Colibri Family: The small form-factor Colibri
SOMs family is ideal for low to medium-end
applications. Popular end user applications are
in the �eld of medical devices and laboratory
equipment, PoS devices and
home-automation, as well as handheld test
equipment or battery powered environmental
monitoring devices. The Colibri family offers an
extensive series of SOMs based on
NXP/Freescale i.MX 6, i.MX 7, Vybrid, and
NVIDIA Tegra 2 or 3 processors. The
pin-compatibility among these SOMs makes
technology upgrades as easy as plug-and-play.
Apalis Family: The Apalis family is designed
for high-end applications that need advanced
performance and superior graphics capability,
along with support for high-speed I/Os such as
GbE, PCIe, SATA, USB 3.0, MIPI CSI, etc. It can
be used in digital signage, �ight cabin systems,
unmanned vehicles, industrial automation and
other demanding embedded applications. The
SOMs are based on NXP/Freescale i.MX 6 and
NVIDIA Tegra 3 or K1 processors. Apalis
modules are standardized and pin-compatible
to allow seamless upgrades for future SoC
generations.

Apalis Evaluation Board The Apalis Evaluation Board offers a �exible
development environment to explore and evaluate all functionality
and performance of the Apalis product family. The SOM peripheral
interfaces can be easily accessed by means of physical connectors
and common pin headers. The breakout area allows for convenient
probing of the large number of Apalis I/Os as well as easy breakout
and jumpering of signals.
Ixora Carrier Board This compact carrier board has been
designed to provide access to the most important features
supported by the Apalis family. It is ideal for both, development
and mass production of end-products. The majority of the
standard interfaces are exposed on the board through a
combination of real-world connector interfaces, card slot and
pin headers. The real world connectors, LEDs, push buttons are
all placed on the board edge in a way that easily allows having a
boxed version of the Ixora carrier board.

Glossary
System on Module (SOM): A System on Module, aka Computer on Module (COM), is a compact platform that consists of the application-agnostic part: hardware and software, for building any embedded product. The SOM includes the processor, memory, power circuitry, operating system, BSPs, and device drivers. Whether you are making a medical ECG machine or industrial automation device, a SOM along with the application-speci�c base-board (PCB with the real world I/Os such as USB, CAN, Ethernet, etc.) and application software, can offer the complete embedded platform.
Customized Single Board Computer (SBC): Customized SBCs offer a ready-to-use embedded platform, which is customized as per your needs. It consists of a SOM and a standard carrier board which together provide the same functionality as a traditional SBC. This platform is ideal for building industrial products that require low customization and fast time-to-market. This combination provides a desirable alternative to SBCs in developing any embedded end-products as the former offers the �exibility and scalability inherent to the SOM approach and yet, remains a complete embedded solution.
