The PSAT/NMSQT Edition for Educators
The Summary of Answers & Skills (SOAS) Report allows you to take a closer, detailed look at your students' academic skills by providing a snapshot of student performance on each PSAT/NMSQT test question. The AP Potential report will support your efforts to recruit students identified with high likelihood for success in AP or other advanced academic cours-es. Presented online, these reports may be downloaded as easily shared with others at your school beginning in Janu-ary. Join us to learn how to link classroom activities with the skills the PSAT/NMSQT measures--critical reading, math prob-lem solving, and writing skills (and focus on the skills in need of improvement) and how to intentionally recruit students for rig-orous courses. Through personal reflection and group discus-sion, you will begin to devise action plans to help your students to utilize this tool in your school/district. In addition, updates regarding the redesigned PSAT will be shared.

Coaching Endorsement to be Offered at Southwest RESA
Coaches are agents of change, supporting and improving the performance of their colleagues, improving teamwork among staff, and increasing the commitment of others to the goals of the sys-tem/school improvement plan-all of which result in improving student achievement. Using a cog-nitive coaching model, with particular attention to building cultural proficiency in ourselves and those we coach, this endorsement program pro-vides the skills and knowledge to bring about positive change in the school setting. This pro-gram meets the PSC endorsement criterion for the Lead Professional certification tier for Georgia educators.
In the first course, Culturally Proficient Coach-ing, participants will self-assess their knowledge, skills, and dispositions to become effective coaches, with special attention to the cultural dif-ferences among those we coach and the students with whom we interact. The second and third courses run concurrently at the conclusion of Course 1, and consist of coaching practice in the school/system setting.
Course I will begin June 4 (9:00 – 12:00) and continue on the following three dates: June 18, July 2, and July 16. All courses would be on Thursdays 9 – 12 here at RESA. Courses II and III would immediately follow course one. The dates for those two courses are August 15 and October 10 (Saturdays) 9 – 12.
