    Canberra Excursion

42 excited students, Mrs Sommerville, Mrs Head and two parent helpers Dean Besley and Pete Barron set off at 6am this morning to Canberra. We know they will have a fantastic time and return with wonderful stories. What a great way to wind up their primary school years.

Kindergarten Orientation has been a great opportunity for our staff to get to know the incoming 2015 Kindergarten students and vice versa. Thank you to Mrs Sutherland and her team who have made this such a valuable program. The performance by Stage 2 for the pre-schoolers last Friday was a lovely way to finish. Congratulations Stage 2. Last Thursday Mrs Sommerville and 18 potential leaders from year 5 attended the annual Bellinger Dorrigo Learning Community Student Leadership Training Day. The day included activities on communication, seizing opportunities and team work. Year 5 will utilise these skills in 2015 in the Buddy program, Peer Support, SRC and the student leadership team. Year 6 is in Canberra this week. I am confident they will be positive ambassadors for our school and community as they visit many of the major attractions in the nations capital. With only two and half weeks to go until the term ends there are still many events on the calendar. Please ensure you check the diary dates carefully so you do not miss any. Have a great week Elizabeth Mulligan, Relieving Principal

    Canteen News

Apparently, the Streets company did not get their name by being “streets ahead”. I still have no response to my enquiries about the demise of Fruit Stacks. This means that our sometimes over heated but still health conscious small clients will have to settle for frozen orange pieces as their means of keeping cool nutritiously. These will be on sale hence forth at 10 cents each, at least until the stock of these delicacies runs out. With only three weeks left until school breaks up for the year and with the last of these weeks closing on Wednesday for our little learners, the canteen only has two more opportunities this year for weekly specials. With this in mind the specials for the next two weeks will be in keeping with the traditions of a politically correct, non-religiously specific, not commercially exploitive celebration. The special this week will be turkey schnitzel, served with cranberry sauce and a fresh salad. The special will not be available until Thursday and Friday when it will sell for $3.50 or $5.00 with a drink Feeding your children to a better education, Eddy Vardabasso, Canteen Supervisor
