PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Community Grant Success!
In a great outcome for Mudgee Public
School, we received the news last
week that our submission under the
NSW Government’s Community Grant
Program had been successful. In fact,
the submission received the highest
number of votes in the Dubbo
electorate.
$140000 has been allocated to extend
and refurbish the existing basketball
court at the school. This will provide a
great facility for teaching of physical
education lessons as well as for play
during break times.
Many thanks to our P&C for their
work with the application and to
everyone who voted for the school.
Local state member, Dugald Saunders
visited the school today for the media
announcement.
Performing Arts Tour
From Tuesday to Friday next week, 45
students will travel to the Forster
region of NSW for our biannual
Performing Arts Tour. Students from
the School Concert Band, School
Spectacular Choir, Senior Dance
Group and Rock Band will perform at
schools and nursing homes next
week.
Zoofari Presentations
Today and tomorrow see the Year 2
Zoofari projects presented in our
School Hall. The Year 2 students have
been undertaking research on their
selected animal and will present their
work to visiting parents and students
over the next two days. Well done
Year 2, I look forward to finding out
some interesting animal facts!
Western Athletics
Good luck to all students competing
in the Western Athletics
Championships in Dubbo this Friday.
A total of 30 students will compete.
Mrs Baddock has been coaching our
relay teams at every opportunity, so
best wishes to all on Friday.
Principal Update
Unfortunately the process to replace
myself as Principal at Mudgee Public
has been delayed. As a result, Mrs
Rogers will be Relieving Principal in
Term 4.
My last week at Mudgee Public will be
next week, Monday my last day at the
school and Tuesday to Friday on the
Performing Arts Tour.

The SRC for Term 3 have decided to
raise money for our farmers! We will
be dressing up in a farm related theme
to support 200 Bales, a local initiative
in the Mid Western Region doing
its absolute best to get farmers and
landholders through this horrible
drought. Bring a gold coin donation
on the day and 50c - $1 to purchase
cakes at the Stage 3 cake stall. Your

greatly appreciated.

Canteen
September is Fruit & Veg month:
Every week in September, Tracey will be cooking up a
dish featuring a vegetable as the superhero ingredient.
Last week it was brussels sprouts! The idea is to
encourage kids to try a new vegetable. Even if they
don't like it, it is great to give it a go. Children can visit
the canteen for a free serve at recess. They will receive
a sticker for each dish they try. The class with the most
stickers at the end of the month will receive a delicious
fruit and vegetable treat for the whole class to share.
Volunteer Update: Thank you to everyone who has
volunteered their time in the canteen so far this term.
This week it's 1C's turn to help and week 9 (week
beginning 16th Sept), it’s 1T. No cooking skills are
required and you can name your day and hours. Please
drop down to the canteen and have a chat to Tracey,
email [email protected] or
send us a message on the P&C Facebook page.
