AccessoriesThe CLEM-6146 is provided with a pair ofADA-515-CLEM150ohmto50ohmadaptersanda4mmdiametercopper rod. These items connect together as shownbelow to form the ‘test jig’ used for the calibrationof test levels, aswell as for themeasurement of theclamp’scouplingfactor.In order to measure the impedance and decouplingfactoroftheEMClamp,anadditionaltestjigcomprisedof apairofCLEMA-6146 adaptersand4mmcopperrodisrequired.Theseitemsareavailableseparately.

DescriptionThe CLEM-6146 Electromagnetic, or ‘EM’ Clampis designed for use as a clamp injection device forconducted immunity tests in the frequency range of150 kHz to 230 MHz according to IEC/EN 61000-4-6.Theclampcanalsobeusedfortestsoveritsextendedfrequencyrangeof10kHzto1GHz.The cable connected between the Equipment UnderTest(EUT)porttobetestedanditsAuxiliaryEquipment(AE) is placed into the EM Clamp. The EM ClampprovidesameansbywhichRFenergyiscoupledontothecableanddecoupledfromtheAEpath,sothattheenergyisdirectedtowardtheEUT.TheCLEM-6146 incorporates split-core ferriteswhich
allows the top half of the hinged enclosureto open so that the cable under test can
easily be laid into position. Onceclosed, rotating the two knobs
on the frontof the clampone-quarter turn engages the
locking mechanismwhich compressesthetopandbottomhalvesoftheferrites
together around thecable.
