PROFILE Ellos is one of the Nordic region’s leading distance retailing companies. Every year, Ellos provides millions of customers attractive offers in fashion and home décor for the entire family. Ellos is active in every Nordic country as well as Russia. The company has around 800 employees, of whom around 700 work at the head office in Borås, Sweden. RESULTS When Eurest accepted the assignment as the dining provider at Ellos six years ago, the restaurant section was called a “staff lunch room” or “cafeteria”. Today, we have succeeded in doing away with this term and it is now known as a “restaurant”. This is a change we are very proud of since the goal of our offering is to place the focus on the dining and move away from the traditional “cafeteria”. The number of dining guests has also grown from 220 when we began to today’s 325, which is another change we see as proof that we have done something right. There is a strong relationship and mutual understanding between Eurest and Ellos, which we consider to be an important aspect for long-term cooperation and continuous development. Both Eurest and Ellos continuously focus on the employees’ satisfaction and well-being, meaning that we always work towards the same goals. Today, Ellos is proud of its restaurant and benefits from the pleasant atmosphere to showcase its attractive offerings in fashion and home décor. We continuously work to improve our offering and next up are further logistics improvements at the counter and a new bread and trimmings buffet. CASE STORY ELLOS BACKGROUND Before Eurest took over, the clearest challenge facing Ellos’ restaurant environment was perhaps logistics. A bottleneck easily formed at the serving counter, limiting capacity to serve the guests. An inviting atmosphere in the premises was also missing. What was sought by the new client was a harmonious and pleasant restaurant setting where the employees would have the opportunity to take a well-earned break from the workday. The logistics problem was another part that a new supplier needed to address. At Ellos, the employees’ satisfaction and well-being is constantly in focus, which is why a renewed and refreshed dining option was a priority. The goal was to create an attractive meeting place for the employees with the chance of enjoying a delightful atmosphere and good food. For Ellos, the endeavour was an important part of taking responsibility as an employer and caring for the staff’s satisfaction. OUR WORK In August 2008, Eurest assumed the responsibility of running the restaurant at Ellos. Today, we run a combined café and restaurant, open to both employees and the public, with around 325 dining guests a day. We have appointed a restaurant manager who has contributed to building up a well- functioning workforce. Fresh, new premises have been created with a focus on logistics where there are now two service counters, doing away with the earlier bottleneck and allowing more guests to be served. Refrigerated displays have also been installed to provide better sales areas. Like all of Eurest’s units, work at Ellos is conducted along a “world-class service” concept, which has received a very positive response from both the client and the guests. Always providing service with that little extra is something we see as a given. The number of dining guests at Ellos has grown from 220 when we began to today´s 325.
