A Pioneer in LNG Refrigeration Compression
ElliotthasbeenapremiersupplierofrefrigerationcompressorsforbaseloadLNGplantssincethebeginningofacommercialmarketforliquefiednaturalgasin1964.Elliott’sheritageinrefrigerationcom-pressortechnologyevolvedfromitsassociationwithCarrierCorporationbeginninginthe1950’s.Today,ElliottisakeypartnerforsomeofthelargestLNGprojectsthroughouttheworld.

Elliottemploysthelatestengineeringdesigntechnologies,includingcomputationalfluiddynamic(CFD)analysis,finiteelementanalysis(FEA),andsolidsmodeling.
CFDandFEAprovideafull3-dimensionalanalysisofboththeaerodynamicflowpathandthestructuralmechanicsofcompressordesigns.State-of-the-artrotordynamics,compressorperformanceanddynamicsimulationprogramsareusedfordevelopingcompressorselections.Thesetoolsoptimizeawiderangeofcom-pressorconfigurationsincludingthosewithside-stream,doubleflow,back-to-back,andinter-cooleddesigns.
Elliott’sproprietarycompressorselectionprogramisusedinallcompressorperformancesimulations.Theprogramincorporatesdatafromsingle-stagedesignverificationtestsandactualfactoryperformancetests.Thispowerfultoolaccuratelymodelsandpredictsstageperformanceincludinginductionandextractionside-streams.

EDSCAN – Analytical Simulation
InLNGservice,themostextremeprocessdemandsareinthepropanerefrigerationapplications.Theseapplicationsinvolvehighmolecular weights combined with lowtemperaturesandvariationsinvolumetricflowrequirements.Large volume side-streams are commonintheliquefactionprocess.
