New Intranet Accessible on July 1! Exciting news! Starting Wednesday, July 1, employees will have access to the new Masonic Villages' Intranet using any mobile device or computer. The intranet is a centralized place to find information relevant to working at Masonic Villages. Several departments have been hard at work developing this new intranet using the power of Office 365 and SharePoint. As the site evolves, more content contributors will be selected and trained. Be sure to provide feedback on the new site using the form link on the homepage. Starting July 1, you will also be able to access the Intranet in several ways:

1. Click on this desktop icon on your Masonic Village work computer.

2. Click on the "MyApps" icon on your Masonic Village work computer, and then click on "INTRANET" at top left.

3. Using your Masonic Village username and password, log on to Office 365 and portal.office.com, from any device anywhere. From a desktop, click on the "Intranet" icon.

Also, starting Wednesday, July 1, you will be using your Office 365 password for Workday, too! One password!

For those who work off-site, you will be prompted for multifactor authentication.

THANK YOU to all who cared for my Dad while he was and is in your care for the past +1.5 years. Your kindness and loving care extended to him was always evident by our family and also by him ... at least most days : ). As probably occurs with most residents, when they first move in, they are really not happy with their situation. They have been “forced” from more independent living to something new and have to adjust to many things, including giving up some of their “stuff,” moving into what seems like a small space, becoming more dependent on others and following the general protocol. He and my mom enjoyed eight wonderful years at Masonic Village at Dallas. Nonetheless, it was a needed next chapter of his and my mother’s life, and over time, Dad began to feel “at home” and was content. This only happened because of ALL of you.

Your commitment to making each person feel special and treating them as individuals with different needs certainly did not go unnoticed. We spent many evenings playing cards in your common area so we had time to observe - not just Dad’s care but the care for all your residents. You also kept me in the loop as his POA, sharing health updates as needed and helping us to discern what the next step was. While Dad has now moved to skilled care, yes, the next chapter of his life, there is a silver lining. Through the care of some wonderful staff advocating for this, he is now living right next to Mom, and they can see each other - what a blessing! God willing, he’ll be around for a while yet, but whatever the future holds, we very much do agree, that he had it pretty good with the team in Personal Care! We hope you enjoy the pizza. It’s only a small gesture that our family could extend to you, but it also comes with a virtual and socially distant hug to each of you. We also know that your job has never been “easy,” but the new normal of quarantine and precaution makes everything you do for your residents so much more difficult and stressful, but even more important since you are the only family they have at this time.

You all are great. THANK YOU! June McGough Kupstas and family

Employee Satisfaction

Survey

Postponed

to 2021

WHY Meeting July 15 at 8:30 a.m. in the Deike Auditorium.

After further evaluation and discussion related to conducting the Employee Satisfaction Survey,

we concluded that pursuing a survey this year may be difficult due to the time and energy that

continues to be committed to working through the challenges of COVID-19. We have made a decision to postpone the Employee Satisfaction Survey for

2020 and will implement the survey next year. We take employees' feedback very seriously, and

understand the importance of carefully addressing the results. Therefore, we feel it is important to

pursue the survey at a later date, when more time can be committed to this effort.

Thank you for your understanding.

As the state continues to open slowly, we will evaluate the risk to our vulnerable resident population. Employee guidance will be based on our responsibility to protect our resident population. Our expectations of employees regarding infection control will lag behind the general public expectations. Below are our guidelines for your stay at home circle and how to safely expand your circle.

Definition of Stay at Home Circle:Individuals who live in your household and those individuals with whom you have regular essential contact.

Definition of Expanding Your Stay at Home Circle:To visit with anyone not in your stay at home circle.

To expand your stay at home circle, you and those who you are visiting must social distance and wear a mask. Social distancing is a minimum of six feet from the next person. Those who you are visiting must have and continue to practice social distancing.

Examples of Activities That Might Lead You to a Quarantine:• Attending a large group event when you are not socially distancing and wearing a mask.• Attending picnics where there is no social distancing and no masks are worn.• Shopping in stores without a mask and not social distancing.• Visiting beaches, parks, parties, race tracks, sporting events or any public venue and not wearing a mask and not social distancing.• Dining at restaurants if not maintaining social distance.• Overnight stays (with others outside of your circle) in which you do not wear a mask, social distance or have separate bathroom/sleeping quarters.

As a reminder, if you are directed to quarantine due to not following Masonic Village guidelines, your quarantine

time will need to be on your own paid time off.

On June 8, 2020, the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health issued an order requiring all skilled nursing facilities to complete baseline COVID-19 testing of employees and residents. This requirement will provide us with an additional resource to enhance our current prevention and control practices, not as a replacement for them. In the upcoming weeks, all employees who work in skilled nursing and have never been tested or who have received testing prior to May 24 with negative results, will be required to undergo a COVID-19 test. We are required to complete all testing before July 24, 2020.

Prior to receiving the test, employees will be required to sign a form that acknowledges their consent for the test and authorizes the release of COVID-19 test results to Masonic Village, PA Department of Health and other outside regulatory agencies, as required. All testing will be performed on site and will come at no cost to the employee. Insurances may be billed for the testing; however, employees will not be responsible for any associated expenses with the baseline testing.

COVID-19 Testing Required for Skilled Nursing Employees

Stay at Home Circle Reminder

We appreciate your understanding of this requirement and sincerely thank you for your continued commitment to providing a safe environment for our residents and each other. Your dedication has been overwhelming and, you

are truly Masonic Village heroes. FAQ regarding this order follows.

Page 12: Elizabethtown June 26, 2020 Teambuilder › wp-content › uploads › 2020 › 06 › MVE_… · white, orange/red, yellow, red, violet star cinnamon #___ PETUNIAS: cha-ching cherry,

Q: Why did the Secretary of Health issue this order?A: The Secretary of Health issued this testing order to assist in protecting the safety of residents, who are among the most vulnerable to COVID-19, and frontline staff in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) across the Commonwealth. In addition, the Secretary of Health issued this order to increase facility readiness for a potential second surge of COVID-19.

Q: How will I know if I have to be tested?A: Employees who are required to undergo testing will be notified. If you are questioning whether you will be required to be tested under this mandate, please talk with your manager, who will work with the Healthcare Administrator to make the determination. Q: Why is it that only staff in the Skilled Nursing Facility need testing? A: Currently, the order is a requirement only for those employees who work in the skilled nursing facility.

Q: What if my test results come back positive?A: If your test results are positive, you will be notified and be required to follow current policies and practices established by the infection prevention team. You may be required to quarantine for a period of time.

Q: Will I have to undergo any follow-up testing beyond the baseline test?A: At this time, the order of the secretary does not require continued testing. However, Masonic Village employees may be required to undergo further COVID-19 testing dependent on future requirements and/or recommendations established by outside regulating agencies. Continued testing may also be recommended if a staff member becomes symptomatic for COVID-19. Q: What if I do not want to get tested?A: In the event that an employee refuses to participate in COVID 19 testing or refuses to authorize release of their testing results to Masonic Villages, until such time as such staff undergoes testing and results of such testing are disclosed to Masonic Village, the employee may NOT be allowed to work.

Q: Will I be responsible for any of the charges associated with testing?A: Although your insurance may be billed for the cost of testing, you will not incur any costs associated with the testing.

CANCELLED

Autumn Day 2020 is cancelled. Originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, this annual open house for Pennsylvania Masons, their families and friends would potentially bring over 6,000 people to our campus. While we know this is a popular event, we do not want to chance inviting thousands of visitors onto our campus and risk exposing our residents and staff to the virus. We have taken exceptional precautions for the past several months to safeguard our residents, and we must continue to be vigilant in the fight against COVID-19. Thank you for understanding.

Q: Who will have access to my test results?A: Only select staff, on a need-to-know basis at Masonic Village, will have access to your results for data tracking and infection prevention purposes. Test results will also be shared with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and other outside regulatory agencies, as required. Elizabethtown employees will also be required to consent for their test results to be released to Lancaster General Hospital for contact tracing purposes

Q: Will my test results be kept confidential?A: Your test results will only be shared with those individuals that have a need to know for purposes identified above. Masonic Village is committed to protect the confidentiality of test results. However, we may generally inform co-workers who may have had contact with any employee who has tested positive (not mentioning the name) that they may have been exposed.

Q: Who will be conducting the testing?A: At most campuses, Masonic Village staff will be conducting the testing; however, it is possible that contracted staff could assist with testing.

Q: Is there any paperwork that I need to complete prior to testing?A: You will also be required to sign the Masonic Village Testing and Consent form. Employees from Elizabethtown will also be required to sign a form authorizing test results to be released to Lancaster General Hospital. You may need to provide your insurance information, so please have insurance information available when presenting yourself for testing.
