Education of Citizens

• make sure the warning system is easily understood

• stress importance of following evacuation plan

• Post a list of essentials to take in case of emergency

• Teach all students warning signs for tsunamis, like quickly receding tides

Defenses Against Tsunamis

• Set up 100 coconut trees along coast (will be a strong barrier against waves)

• Purchase sand for 50 additional dunes (set behind trees as additional sturdy defense)

• Place 3 Seismographs in the bay

• Alarms and sirens sound if activity is detected

• Evacuation notices appear on all media

• Hospitals nearby are ready for injured victims

• Chennai Coast Guard alerted and ready to dispatch upon disaster

● 3 Seismic Sensors= $45,000 ($15,000 each)

● Alert system-$65,000

● 100 coconut trees-$10,000 ● sand dunes along coast- $6500

● entire cleanup operation- 100 million dollars

Total- $100,126,500

Profits from benefit concert: 20 million dollars.
