•  One of the first things Elizabeth Warren did as Senator was support this campaign to challenge Exxon’s proposed tar sands pipeline in New England. I led the campaign for Massachusetts’ Congressional support.

•  Big win for fossil fuel divestment. The UCC church released a long statement. I found this quote that highlighst the significance of the win and calls on other faith communities to follow their lead.

•  I’m regularly monitoring trending hashtags. #Mytypein4words was trending, so I used it as an opportunity to promote BDS and the JVP Boston Twitter account.

Keeping Up with the News & Finding Pull Quote

•  When a tar sands pipeline spilled in Arkansas, it was an obvious chance to promote an anti Keystone XL tar sands pipeline campaign.

•  Stephen Colbert did an excellent segment and I found this quote for a meme.

Evaluating Popularity of Hashtags

•  Using Topsy, I discovered #VMWorld was much more popular than #VMWorld2015 (10,646 vs 169), making it much better to use.

•  JVP Bay Area called upon JVP chapters to support their Twitter storm using either of the two hashtags. I used the popular hashtag and posted the info on the Facebook event page.

Funny Meme Hijacking Popular Hashtag

•  Posted tweets for #BoycottHP including a meme that referenced a pop culture tech joke. One of top 10 images in #VMWorld search results during conference.

•  I make sure to find short, snappy, compelling quotes that distill the essence of the speech or event when live tweeting. •  My most popular live tweets have been photos that capture powerful
