Introduction

On the steel mill in Russia we have our own steelmaking furnaces, rolling mills, cold drawing benches, planing and grinding machines. The unique tech-nological completeness allows us to control the production processes on all stages of the value-added chain.As a producer of special steel profiles for automotive and machine build-ing industries Omutninsk Metallurgical Plant is committed to continuous im-provement of production technologies in order to maintain the highest level of quality of our products.

VOL-Stahl is a subsidiary of Omutninsk Metallurgical Plant, the leading producer of elevator guide rails and special steel profiles in Russia and CIS countries with the overall produc-tion experience of more than 230 years.

QualityQuality obtains tremendous attention on the Omutninsk Metal-lurgical Plant, the ultimate parent company of VOL-Stahl GmbH. The continuous control over the technological processes is conducted on all stages of the production - from steel making to final drawing - and timely adjust-ments are carried out if needed.In order to be labeled as finished, elevator guide rails go through several inspec-tion points, which include stream inspection, sample checks on defectoscopes and manual control before packaging. Such approach allows completely exclude products that do not comply with the specified parameters.All business processes on the enterprise are in line with the international quality standard ISO 9001:2001 and ISO TS 16949, the standard for automotive produc-tion and relevant service part organizations.

VOL-Stahl supplies cold drawn, machined and high quality guide rails. All guide rails can be commissioned to the particular eleva-tor column and packed to meet the requirements of transporta-tion safety or installation time optimization.

Cold drawn guide railsOmutninsk Metallurgical Plant pro-duced its first cold drawn guide rails in 1983, after 25 years of production experience our product line includes the whole range of sizes.

Deep expertise in the production of spe-cial steel profiles enable us to employ for production of guide rails the same tech-nologies as for products that are delivered to automotive and machine building indus-tries.

Machined guide railsMachined guide rails for heavy duty and high speed applications must meet specific requirements both for surface and material quality.

The in- house steelmaking, hot rolling, plan-ing and milling allow VOL-Stahl to guar-antee chemical composition, mechanical properties, geometry and surface quality of the guide rails.
