The columns represent climb rate, and the blocks within the columns represent the number of climb counters possessed by a combatant. If the blocks of two combtants overlap horizontally, then they collide. Each colliding combatant takes a C damage card for each other combatant, enemy or friend, with which it collides. Take into account damage points and explosions and ignore other types of special damage. A plane possessing Climb Rate 4 and 2 climb counters will collide with a plane  possessing Climb Rate 7 and 5 climb counters. A plane possessing Climb Rate 2 and 1 climb counter will not collide with a  plane possessing C limb Rate 4 and 1 climb counter, but would collide with a plane  possessing Climb Rate 5 and 3 climb cou nters. Anti-aircraft guns are treated as though they have a Climb Rate of 3. When adjusting fire, up to three climb counters may be added or subtracted, changing altitude level if necessary. Determine hits as you would for collisions above.
