I would like to thank everyone in our community for their thoughtfulness and manner you have gone about business this week. Our students are showing incredible resilience and understanding with the changes that we have implemented across the school this week. I know many are disappointed to be missing out on activities but they are taking in their stride. They continue to make me incredibly proud. A big thank you to all of the staff of EVPS as well, they have been amazing with dealing with the changes. At the forefront has been their love and care for the students and families of our school. This situation continues to evolve daily. Please take care of your families and yourself. I will endeavor to keep you up to date as much as I can with what is happening with the school. Please sign up to Skoolbag as we will use that as our main information section for families. On a bright note, how amazing is our playground installation looking at the front of our school? We have all been watching with keen interest to see the developments each day as it nears completion. This has occurred due to a major contribution from our P&C and I know has been many years of work from a lot of people to make it a reality. Who will be the first to play on it? Learning is continuing at EVPS this week I have seen some wonderful work from 3/4G with students in their gardens as well as learning about the Venus Flytrap, Preschool students experimenting with magnets, Stage 3 having a video link up with the University Quidditch team and KA learning about the letter Gg. Take some time out this weekend and continue to take care of yourself and your families. Term 1 Week 8 20 March 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well, what can I say! This has definitely been an

interesting week for everyone. I would like to thank

everyone in our community for their thoughtfulness and

manner you have gone about business this week.

Our students are showing incredible resilience and

understanding with the changes that we have

implemented across the school this week. I know many

are disappointed to be missing out on activities but they

are taking in their stride. They continue to make me

incredibly proud.

A big thank you to all of the staff of EVPS as well, they

have been amazing with dealing with the changes. At

the forefront has been their love and care for the

students and families of our school.

This situation continues to evolve daily. Please take

care of your families and yourself. I will endeavor to

keep you up to date as much as I can with what is

happening with the school. Please sign up to Skoolbag

as we will use that as our main information section for

families.

On a bright note, how amazing is our playground

installation looking at the front of our school? We have

all been watching with keen interest to see the

developments each day as it nears completion. This has

occurred due to a major contribution from our P&C and

I know has been many years of work from a lot of people

to make it a reality. Who will be the first to play on it?

Learning is continuing at EVPS – this week I have seen

some wonderful work from 3/4G with students in their

gardens as well as learning about the Venus Flytrap,

Preschool students experimenting with magnets, Stage

3 having a video link up with the University Quidditch

team and KA learning about the letter Gg.

Take some time out this weekend and continue to take

care of yourself and your families.

The P&C had a fantastic year financially in 2019, being a direct result of the hard work, enthusiasm and dedication of our

volunteers, P&C members, Executive Officers, staff and teachers, who have committed their time and efforts in organising

and running a myriad of events, and raising funds for our school.

They raised $12,755.99 through the fundraising events and we had the pleasure of helping out our school and supporting

students by giving back $4,048.37 and putting aside a further $15,597.92 for future projects, as outlined below:

The Canteen finished the year with a net profit of $7,297.16 for the 12 months ended 31 December 2019. This was a huge

success having started the year with a $5,000+ loss. The turnaround can be attributed to a restructuring of the canteen

and a hardworking team of volunteers who have put measures in place to reduce purchasing costs, undertake in-house

cooking/baking and run some very successful promotional days.

The results for our P&C this year would not have been possible without the many wonderful volunteers, who have invested

much time and effort in supporting our fundraising events and/or helping run or volunteer in the canteen. Whether you

were involved in one of our sub-committees, as an organiser of an event, a helper on the day, or simply coming up with

ideas, every little bit you do has helped make 2019 a successful year, so THANK YOU very much for your support. We are

very fortunate to have a wonderful school in EVPS, it is full of amazing teachers and staff who have supported our ventures,

so we THANK YOU all very much too.

While we are looking forward to the year ahead, we are taking direction from the school in terms of the impact of novel

coronavirus (COVID-19) before any events are scheduled this year. Stay safe everyone!
