    C OMPONENT 1- C URRICULUM A IMS ,G OALS AND OBJECTIVES

    The Philippine educational system is divided inthree educational levels: primary,secondary andtertiary levels.Based on the Philippine Constitutionof 1987,all schools shall aim to:

    1.Inculcate patriotrism and nationalism2. Foster love of humanity

    3.Promote respect for human rights4.Appreciate the national heroes in the historical

    development of the country5.Teach the rights and duties of citizenship

    In the elementary level,schools through theircurricula should aim to:

    Provide knowledge and developskills,attitudes, values essential to personaldevelopment and necessary for living inand contributing to a developing andchanging society.

    Provide learning experinces whichincrease the childs awareness of andresponsiveness to the changes in thesociety;

    Promote and intensifyknowledge,identification with and lovefor the nation and the people to which

    he belongs;and

    In high school or secondary level,educationcurricula aim to:

    Continue to promote the objectives ofelementary education;and

    Discover and enhance the different aptitudes

    and interest of the students in order to equipthem with the skills for productive endeavorand or to prepare them for tertiary schooling

    Provide general education programs which will promotenational identity,cultural conciousness,moral integrityand spiritual vigor;Train the nations manpower in the skills required fornational development;Develop the professions that will provide leadership forthe nation;andAdvance knowledge through research and apply newknowledge for improving the quality of human life andrespond effectively to changing society.

    Based on the mandate of theconstitution,each school therefore should beguided by its vision,mission and goals and

    its curricula should also revolved aroundthese.

    The schools vision is a clear concept ofwhat the institution would like to become inthe future

    1.To produce globally competetive lifelong learners.

    2.Commits to the total development of individuals forlife adjustment and to the upliftment of the

    economically deprived but deserving studentsthrough quality instruction updated facilities andcurricula responsive to the needs of the times .

    The schools vission and mission are further translated

    into goals which are broad statements or intense to beaccomplished.Data for the sources of schools goals mayinclude the learners,society and the fund of knowledge.

    students are equipped with knowledge,skillsand strenght of character to realize theirpotential to the fullest .

    The schools mission statement,spells out how tointends to carry out its Vision.The mission targets to

    produce the kind of persons the student willbecome after having been educated over a certain

    period of time.

    2.Efficient and effective administration retheresponsive of the needs of the university andcommunity

    In acurriculum,these goals are made simple andspecific for the attainment of each learner.These arecalled education objectives.

    1.Explicit formulations of the ways in which studentsare expected to be changed by the educativeprocess,and

    2.Intent communicated by statement describing aproposed change in learners.
