Música Latina A Symphonic Celebration of the Americas Elementary GRADES 3-5 Elementary GRADES 3-5 High School GRADES 9-12 The 2013/14 youth concert program Música Latina: A Symphonic Celebration of the Americas, designed for students in grades 3-8 returns to Boettcher Concert Hall. When first performed, teachers said, “It was wonderful to reinforce that FANTASTIC music has come from countries that many of them [students] have heard of or come from.”“With our population of 50% Hispanic students, this program culturally connected them to classical music – a big ‘Aha’ for many of them.” Teach- ers receive teaching materials that align with Colorado State Standards for music and social studies and a CD featuring the program’s repertoire, enabling classroom study in advance of the field trip experience. Make reservations early! This will be the most important field trip of the school year. Drums of the world Presented by GRADES 3-12 Take a trip around the world with the Symphony’s exuberant percussion crew! The air is full of driving rhythms and syncopation and the stage is filled with percussion instruments, including a few you might not expect! Students won’t be able to resist clapping along and tapping their feet all the way back to school. This program is ideal for teens, tweens and younger students. Impressionism Passport to Paris Presented in partnership with the Denver Art Museum, this Inside the Score program features projected imagery of beautiful Impressionist masterpieces set against the music of Debussy, Ravel and their peers. Learn how the visual and musical artists of the time influenced and inspired each other. The 2013/14 youth concert program Música Latina: A Symphonic Celebration of the Americas, designed for students in grades 3-8 returns to Boettcher Concert Hall. HoW To MAKE A RESERVATionTo make a reservation for a Colorado Symphony Kids (CSK) concert, Once Upon A Time or Petite Musique performance, use the downloadable reservation forms on the“edUCaTION” page of the Colorado symphony website at www.coloradosymphony.org.If you do not have access to the internet call 303.308.2466 and request a reservation form be mailed or faxed to you.

ConFiRMATion oF RESERVATionall reservations are processed in the order in which they are received. You will receive aninvoice for payment and packet containing teaching materials, bus signs, parkinginstructions and a map of the area. seating assignments are made two weeks before each CSK concert and based on the size of your group, not the order in which your reservation is received. To insure that students/adults with special needs are accommodated, please include that information on the reservation form.

PAYMEnT inSTRuCTionSYou may make full payment when you submit your reservation, or submit payment upon receipt of the invoice from the symphony. acceptable forms of payment include check (school or personal), money order, Visa, american express, discover, or MasterCard. If full payment is not possible when you submit your reservation or upon receipt of the invoice, a school requisition or purchase order may be submitted. A purchase order is a legally binding document. reservations not paid on time may be cancelled. If your school has a previous unpaid balance, new reservations will not be accepted until the balance is paid in full. ALL BALAnCES MuST BE PAiD in FuLL AnD RECEiVED AT LEAST 2 WEEKS PRioR To THE DATE oF THE EVEnT. Do noT send payment if you are requesting fi nancial assistance. You will receive confi rmation indicating the amount of your school’s fi nancial assistance and any amount due.

CHAnGES AnD CAnCELLATion PoLiCYCHAnGES If you would like to purchase additional seats for an existing CSK or Petite Musique reservation, please call or email the symphony’s director of education Nora robinson (email: [email protected]) to inquire about availability. If we are able to accommodate your request, you will be asked to complete and submit (email or fax) the Change in Registration Request form. please do not bring extra students or chaperones on the day of the performance without calling in advance to ensure that space is available.

CAnCELLATionS If a teacher must cancel a school’sreservation for a CSK or Petite Musique concert, or reduce their group size, he/she must do so no later than 4 weeks prior to the confi rmed performance date. Ifpayment has been made, teachers may request a full refund or transfer the funds to another performance. If a written cancellation request is not received 4 weeks prior to the performance date, the school will be held responsible for full payment.

inCLEMEnT WEATHERIn the event that The Symphony cancels a CSK, Petite Mu-sique or In-school performance due to inclement weather, there will be a voicemail recording on the Colorado sym-phony education line (303) 308.2466. If the performance has not been cancelled but your school is closed, delayed, or must cancel due to a lack of transportation, please notify the director of education at (303) 308.2466 / email: [email protected] as soon as possible. If your school is closed or delayed due to inclement weather, please notify the education department in writing within one week after the event to receive a full refund or to reschedule. Full refunds will be given if the Colorado symphony cancels a performance.
