Introductionhistory

For 50 years the name VERO has been synonymous throughout Europe and beyond with high quality electronics packaging. Verotec continue to provide the quality and service for which VERO was renowned.

Vero Electronics was founded in 1961 and acquired by BICC in 1979; APW acquired Vero Electronics in 1998 and Verotec then acquired key product lines from APW’s administrators in 2007.

What We do

We design, manufacture and integrate a comprehensive range of electro-mechanical products including 19” cabinets, subracks, instrument cases, fantrays, backplanes, power supplies, bus-based systems and components.

We offer a full engineering and manufacturing service, TecServ+, to assist our customers in modifying our standard products or developing custom versions to suit a specific requirement. This offering is supported by our expertise in thermal management, power conversion, EMC, environmental and regulatory standards.

We develop open-architecture products for bus-based market applications and offer fully integrated COTS and custom chassis in standard platforms such as VME64x, OpenVPX and CompactPCI.

KM6 subracksabout

In order to meet the diverse mechanical, electrical and environmental requirements that today’s markets and applications demand, Verotec offer three distinct subrack ranges.

features

KM6-II subracks are fully compatible with DIN 41494 and IEC 60297, they are strong, versatile and easy to assemble with many accessories. All tiebars have two screw fixing positions making the construction robust yet accurate and well suited to light and medium duty applications.

KM6-RF subracks meet the requirements of IEEE 1101.10/11, which expand on IEC60297 to add functionality required for modern industrial computing applications. This includes RFI shielding, a rear transition area, front panel ESD / coding and handles with an injector / extractor operating feature.

KM6-HD subracks, although primarily designed for military use, would suit any rugged application where a resistance to shock and vibration is required. In addition to IEC 60297 and IEEE 1101.10/11, they are also designed to meet military standard MIL-STD-167. Features include positive guide retention, heavy duty two screw fixing tiebars and 3mm thick side plates and rack angles.

The Eurotec Caseframe is designed for applications that require the mounting / housing of Eurocard-style electronics cards or modules in either a 19” rackmount, desktop or portable form factor. A step up from a standard subrack, its design requires no external housing, and offers optional EMC protection along with the integration of cooling fans and power supplies in a self-contained, attractive unit. Top and bottom covers are easily removed for system building and servicing requirements.

Verotec cases offer an excellent combination of technical competence and aesthetic design, making them an ideal choice for housing high-end electronic instruments. Cases include panel mounts that facilitate the mounting of 19” (andhalfwidth)equipmentwhilstcaseframesfeaturehorizontaltiebarsforthehousingofDIN-styleeurocardPCBs. The desktop design offers no visible fixings meaning product is both secure with a clean appearance. Corner cover mouldings allow units to be stacked or tilted to adjust the viewing angle of the front panel. The Verotec case design also allows the unit to be EMC and IP54 sealed with the addition of foam and copper gaskets.

verakVERAK is high end, technically competent family of IP65 sealed and EMC screened cabinets, optimised for use in the industrial, broadcast and general electronics industries. The welded steel construction provides accuracy and strength with a rated static load capacity of 750Kg. VERAK is available in heights of 27, 37 and 42U and widths and depths of 600 and 800mm.

imrakThe IMRAK 1400 range of cabinets has become the standard by which other cabinet designs are measured. Available in heights of 12 to 47U, widths of 600 and 800mm and depths of 600, 800 and 1000mm, the range is extensive and highly configurable. The welded and bolted steel construction provides an extremely accurate and robust frame, with a static load capacity of up to 1000kg, making IMRAK ideal for electronics and communications industries. Backplanes and Extendersabout

Verotecworkswithleadingstandardsorganizationssuch as VITA and PICMG to bring to market the latest open-architecture products. These include a wide range of standard backplanes conforming to VME, VXI, VPX, CompactPCI, PXI and AdvancedTCA standards.

We use a number of software tools to aid backplane design, including Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics and Pads. Our knowledge and experience means we can meet the most demanding design specifications and requirements whilst rising to the challenges of modern day environmental issues.
