The Summer Workshop on Analog Circuits SWAC 2011 was organized by Electronics and Communication Engineering department , Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technolgy (SVIST), Sonarpur,Kolkta-145 during June 7-11’ 2011. The week-long event was sponsored and supported by IEEE Calcutta Section. This was the first endeavor in the campus of SVIST and is planned to be organized on an annual basis. The organizing committee gets immense pleasure to report that the IEEE Calcutta Section Chairman Prof. Shibaji Chakraborty, Vice Chair Prof. Debatosh Guha and IEEE Cacutta Section student activity Chairman Prof. Bhaskar Gupta were present in the inaugural occasion and graced the occasion. Prof. J.Y. Siidiqui, observer from IEEE Calcutta section for this program was also present and expressed his satisfaction in overall arrangements. The workshop was planned to provide a forum of knowledge for the budding electronics engineers of the Institute. The technical topics to be covered in the workshop were formulated on the broad domain of analog electronics circuit design; Special emphasis was given to accommodate proper experiments to enhance hand-in expertise. Also participants were familiarized with modern day CAD tools (Multisim, Spice etc) used extensively for complex circuit design. The workshop was attended by 42 students of the Institute. All the participants expressed their satisfaction and positive feedback in the valedictory session of the program.
