Electrolyte solution is the solution that can to conduct the electricity.

Electrolyte compound is the compound that if dissolve in water can to ionized. Such as salt, acid, and base.

In ionization process will produce positive and negative ion. Where this charge of the ions that conduct the electricity (electron flow) from one electrode to other electrode so that can make the lamp is light

For example: H2SO4 → 2H+ + SO4-2

NaCl → Na+ + Cl-

NaOH → Na+ + OH-

HCl → H+(aq) + Cl-

(aq)

CH3COOH ↔ H+ + CH3COO-

Can electrolyte solution are ion compound and polar covalent compound ???

ANSWER

Page 7: Electrolyte and Non Electrolyte Solution

Depend on its form………..

WHY ???

Page 8: Electrolyte and Non Electrolyte Solution

Ion compound is the compound that has ion bonding, such as NaCl,KCl and NaOH. In solid form its can’t to conduct electricity because the ions aren’t move, but in melt or its dissolve its can to conduct the electricity because the ions can to free movement.

In polar covalent compound for example HCl, electron pair bond tertarik to Cl that more electronegative than H. so in HCl, H atom more positive and Cl more negative. So although HCl molecule isn’t ion compound if dissolve in water can to conduct electricity because produce the ions that can to free movement. Pure HCl can’t to conduct electricity because its in molecule form not ions.

Is the solution that can to conduct the electricity by strong because undergo the completely ionized.

If its test by using electrolyte tester will produce light lamp an there are gas bubbles.

For examples: KCl → K+ + Cl-

NaCl → Na+ + Cl-

Strong Electrolyte Solution

Page 10: Electrolyte and Non Electrolyte Solution

Is the solution that just undergo half ionized so its can to conduct electricity by weak.

If its test by using electrolyte tester will produce redup light and there are gas bubbles, or just occur gas bubbles.

For examples: CH3COOH ↔ H+ + CH3COO-

NH4OH ↔ NH4+ + OH-

Weak Electrolyte Solution

Page 11: Electrolyte and Non Electrolyte Solution

Non electrolyte solution is the solution that can’t to conduct electricity.

Non electrolyte compound is the compound that can’t to ionized. Such as glucose, urea, and alcohol

Non electrolyte solution

For example:Urea solution (CO(NH2)2 , alcohol solution

C2H5OH (ethanol), glucose solution (C6H12O6)

CO(NH2 )2(s) + water CO(NH2 )2(aq)
