4. Are you a board or Nucleus member of any other scientific association?
Yes No X
If you answered yes, please provide details.
5. Why are you interested in joining the ACNAP Board and what would you like to achieve if you were elected (300 words max)? I would like to make a concrete contribution to cardiovascular nurses in my country, because
despite the experience gained and their advanced skills in this field, in clinical practice
settings their skills are not always formally recognized and therefore I would also like to be
their spokesperson at a European level.
The dissemination of the ACNAP core competencies is the goal of the ANMCO Association,
but I would like to contribute to enhancing the core competence and nursing skills of nurses
and draw attention to the importance of understanding and meeting patients’ needs, through
knowledge of studies and research projects in the field of cardiology nursing, which can be
truly useful and significant meaningful for clinical practice, promoting knowledge despite
language barriers.
On the subject of core competence, I had denounced the critically related to the recognition of
skills, writing an editorial, published in the European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing in
2017, of which I insert the reference.
Eur J Cardiovasc Nurs 2018 Jun;17(5): 388-389. doi: 10.1177/1474515117742132. Epub
2017 Nov 3.
Approaches to nurse education and competence development in remote telemonitoring
of heart failure patients with implanted heart devices in Italy: a cause for concern.
Barisone M, Bagnasco A, Timmins F, Aleo G, Sasso L.
Being part of ACNAP would be an important opportunity for me, which would allow me to
compare myself with colleagues from other countries in order to increase and enrich my
knowledge and skills in this sector, providing my active contribution.
6. How will you balance your work commitments with your commitments to ACNAP (300 words max)? I will try to actively participate in the activities that will be proposed, disseminating the
information and indications of ACNAP in collaboration with the ANMCO Association and
the support of the FIC (Italian Federation of Cardiology)
Through the website, newsletters and national conferences, ANMCO already disseminates the
reference documents produced by ACNAP.
The goal is to grow members and provide italian cardiology nurses with the benefits of being
affiliated, including in terms of updating through conferences and webinars or other training
material.
I think that sharing a common path in the management of the patient with cardiovascular
problems, in consideration of the regulatory and legal structures, typical of each country,
allows to uniform the way of assisting these patients, guaranteeing a quality standard for the
patient, but also self-assessment for the nurse himself.
