THANK YOU NOTES
Dear College Street Baptist Church Family, “The family of Billy Dyar acknowledges with grateful appreciation your kind expression of sympathy.” Thank you for your generous donation to Shriners Hospital for Children—Greenville in memory of Billy Dyar. Billy’s granddaughter, Emily is currently being treated at Shriners. This facility is dear to the hearts of his family. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, The Family of Billy Dyar

To Our Church Family, How can we ever express in words our thoughts when we have so many? Around four years ago, we knew something was happening to Dad. Dementia is a horrible disease. Dad fought this with all his strength, demonstrating to us how strong a 94-year-old World War II Veteran could be! To each of you, thanks for your prayers, cards, phone calls, encouragement and the gift in memory of Dad to Poplar Springs Baptist Church. To those of you who came by during his visitation service, sent messages to the mortuary and attended Dad’s funeral, we extend our heartfelt thanks. Please remember our family in your prayers in the days ahead as we make adjustments without Dad. May God bless each of you.

Dear College Street Baptist Church Family, “With heartfelt appreciation. During such a difficult time, your kindness meant so much, and your thoughtfulness was really touching. Thank you for all your sympathy and caring.” With much love and appreciation, we want to thank all those who prayed for us and reached out to us in so many ways during the death of my mother.

Ken’s Korner From Ken… I can hardly believe that summer break is over and that schools have begun. But such is life! With the end of summer break comes the anticipation of many really exciting things for the church family. First, our annual church-wide picnic is Sunday, August 28
th at Biggerstaff Christian
Retreat Center. We will have the association block party trailer with the bouncies for the kids. Ray will conduct the annual horse shoe tournament and I will lead the annual corn hole tournament. Both will follow the wonderful meal. Our fellowship team will provide tea and will be cooking hamburgers and hot dogs this year. You are asked to bring the “fix’ins” and other foods to share with everyone. Don’t forget the desserts! Let’s have a great time together. Maybe a few table games might pop up this year! “Hand and foot anybody?” Second, is the beginning of our Fall Wednesday night meals on Wednesday, September 7th at 5:00 p.m. Third, will be the kick-off of MARK Club, Student Worship and Adult CrossWalk in the evening of September 11
th. All children, youth and adult classes will begin at 5:00 p.m.
and end at 6:30 p.m. Fourth, will be the kick-off for Bible Quest and Youth Groups on Wednesday, September 14th. These all start at 6:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m. (youth groups sometimes go over allotted time.) Fifth, the Golden Fellowship will go to Shoney’s in Lavonia for breakfast on Thursday, September 15th. The bus will be leaving at 9:30 a.m. Sixth, is the “Ingathering for the Janie Chapman Offering for State Missions” that will take place on Sunday, September 18
th in the morning service.
Seventh, is the “Law Enforcement Appreciation Sunday” on Sunday, September 25th. Several churches in Walhalla and elsewhere are inviting the families of our law enforcement agencies to an afternoon of food and fun that day. I’ll share more about this as the date nears. Finally, but probably most importantly is the Church Renewal process that we have already begun. The target weekend is October 7-9th, however many cottage prayer meetings will have already begun. Keep these dates open. We will be sharing more re-garding this process as the dates gets closer. Adult CrossWalk Class begins on Sunday evening, September 11
th at 5:00 p.m. in the
Sanctuary. I am excited about a discussion and participation class that I am developing on “Prayer”. All summer I’ve been collecting material, reviewing resources, outlining study ideas and praying! If you are not involved elsewhere with MARK Club etc., I invite you, in fact I urge you to give the Sunday nights leading up to the Church Renewal as a time to prepare for Renewal. I hope to see you there.

DONATION OF INK CARTRIDGES
As you know, we continue to collect used printer cartridges. We are able to deliver these to a
local business where we receive credit for office supplies/equipment. We are allowed to deliver
twenty (20) per month and with this receive $40 credit. This goes quite a long way when we have
need of paper, etc. for the office. If you have used cartridges available, please drop them off by the church office or the Sunday School office.
We’ll be happy to recycle these for you.
Thanks!
Hello CSBC! I hope all of you have had an incredible summer! I know here at C-Street Kids, we’ve had an awesome summer starting with Vacation Bible School where we averaged over ONE HUNDRED students every night! It was so incredible! Our children’s movie nights and events each averaged 30 children along with their families! We had so much fun! As we begin the school year, I encourage all of you to pray for our children as they start school! Each year of school is a new chapter in their lives where they have an opportunity to learn more about themselves, other people and about Jesus. We have so many opportunities here at C-Street Kids for them to learn about all three! Starting the week of September 11th, we will begin our three school year ministries: M.A.R.K Club, Good News Club at Walhalla Elementary and Wednes-day night Bible Quest! I hope if you aren’t already involved in one of these ministries, you will find a way to get plugged in! We can definitely use extra help in all of these groups! It is so rewarding to work and love the children that God has sent our way! Every child that comes through our doors is there because God loves them and wants us to love them too! If you feel led to be involved in any of these ministries, please do not hesitate to let me know. I am so thankful for such a loving and supportive church family like all of you at CSBC. I appreciate your kindness and support for our ministries at C-Street Kids.
Because of Him,
Lauren
