WHO are we?Australia’s Coral Coast is the peak regional tourism organisation (RTO) responsible for regional destination marketing of the Coral Coast in Western Australia.The organisation undertakes activities designed to expose the tourism product and infrastructure of the region to consumers in its identified core markets domestically and internationally. Working with the media to promote the amazing attractions and experiences of this region is integral to achieving our objectives.

WHERE is th e Cora l Coast?The Coral Coast region starts just under two hours north of Perth and runs for 1,100kms north to Exmouth. Some of Australia’s best known holiday experiences are found on the Coral Coast, including the Pinnacles, Geraldton’s Abrolhos Islands, the Kalbarri National Park, the Shark Bay World Heritage Area (includes the dolphins of Monkey Mia and Dirk Hartog Island), the fresh produce of Carnarvon and the incredible Ningaloo Reef, where you can swim with the world’s largest fish, the whale shark.

WHAT is on offer?With secret beaches, untouched shorelines and an abundance of unique animals on land and in water, the Coral Coast is a wonderland that will do more than satisfy your wanderlust. Our life-changing activities and landscapes are guaranteed to leave lasting impressions and some amazing tales to tell. The region has a lot on offer for families, group travellers, cruise enthusiasts, grey nomads and self-drive, self-catering tourists. CLIMATEAustralia’s Coral Coast enjoys a warm climate all year round. Covering Cervantes to Exmouth, the region enjoys a Mediterranean climate in the south and a sub-tropical climate in the north. The best time to visit is between the milder months of March to October with the majority of wildlife on offer to see, however there is something to experience all year round – depending on your travel habits or budget.

New EXPERIENCESSWIM WITH HUMPBACK WHALES, CORAL BAY & EXMOUTH In 2017, tourists will once again have the opportunity to swim with humpback whales in Exmouth and Coral Bay. The results from the inaugural season (1 August to 30 November 2016) were encouraging, with 1,644 people successfully experiencing swimming with these giants of the ocean. Humpback interaction tours are operated by the 11 Whale Shark tour operators in both Coral Bay and Exmouth.

DIVE THE NAVY PIER, EXMOUTH Exmouth’s Navy Pier dive site is best described as an aquarium without glass. The site re-opened in November 2016 and has a reputation as one of the top 10 shore dives worldwide, primarily due to its vast range of marine life. Dive must be guided and available through Dive Ningaloo.

CORAL COAST HELICOPTERS, CARNARVON Based in Carnarvon, see the Coral Coast from above. Flying between the two world heritage areas of Shark Bay and the Ningaloo Coast, enjoy a half-day tour over Carnarvon’s Bernier and Dorre Islands, snorkelling the Quobba cave system with a picnic lunch on a private beach.

FOODIE AND HISTORY TOUR, CARNARVON Immerse yourself in Carnarvon’s rich history and food culture! Experience some of Carnarvon’s freshest and finest local produce and seafood, design adn served up especially for this tour. Bookings through the Carnarvon Visitor Centre.

LIVE NINGALOO AND SET THE HOOK, EXMOUTH Ningaloo’s newest Whale Shark and Humpback tour operator, the brand also offers fishing charter tours such as Billfish on Fly, Light and Heavy Tackle Billfish as well as Sports Fishing.

NINGALOO CENTRE, EXMOUTH Visitors will soon be able to experience Ningaloo Reef without getting their feet wet in a new landmark multi-purpose building. The centre will have three interpretive display areas including interactive exhibitions and regional information as an immersive experience - opening late 2017.

SHARK BAY DIVE & MARINE SAFARIS, SHARK BAY Specialising in scuba diving, snorkelling and scenic wildlife tours to Steep Point (Australia’s most western-point) and Dirk Hartog Island (the first location in Australia that Europeans stepped foot on) - see sharks, dugongs, whales, dolphins and more!

VISIT DIRK HARTOG ISLAND, SHARK BAY The Island as the site of the first recorded European landing on Australian soil 400 years ago and offers a peaceful retreat of beautiful scenery with private white sandy beaches plus 4WDing, fishing, snorkelling, whale watching tours or just time to slow down!

TWIN SKY-WALKS COMING 2017, KALBARRI Breathtaking skywalks in the Kalbarri National Park will become a major tourism drawcard for the region, providing stunning vistas of the Murchison River gorge’s 400,000 million year old Tumblagooda rust-red cliffs, flowing water and scrub from above, traversing by skywalk.

DIVE THE BATAVIA SHIP WRECK, GERALDTON The 122 islands making up Abrolhos group of Gerladton’s coast, form a stunning abstract of the most incredible range of greens and blues. It’s the location of the 1628 Batavia ship wreck. Anchors from the wreck are now teaming with coral, fish, sharks and more - a great dive!

QUIRK AND FUN TOURS WITH LAND TO SEA, GERALDTON Offering day and night tours around Geraldton, Kalbarri and the Pinnacles - Land to Sand tours will take you to our iconic sites like Nature’s Window in Kalbarri and quirkier attractions such as Australia’s largest Clown Fish Hatchery, found in Geraldton.

New ACCOMMODATION MANTARAYS NINGALOO BEACH RESORT Novotel Ningaloo Resort has rebranded for 2017 as the magnificent 4.5 star Mantarays Ningaloo Beach Resort in Exmouth and is metres from the waterline on Sunrise Beach. The hotel is named after its award-winning restaurant.

MACKEREL ISLANDS (PICTURED) If you’re looking to enhance your Ningaloo trip, consider adding the nearby Mackerel Islands to your itinerary.
