PQRT WASHINGTON LOSES T0MANHASSET 27-19
Manhasset’s undefeated basketballteam kept its record unsullied by de-feating Port’s five 27-19 at Manhas-set, last Friday night. The game wasrough and exciting. Although ourfive never commanded the lead, theywere at‘one t ime during the last quar-ter, but five points in the rear.Manhasset’s most threatening man,
Manzinno, was expected to make 20points with ease, but Jenkin’s vigilantwork kept him in check. The othersof our team worked hard on the de-fense but seemed to fal l short in of-fense. On the other hand Manhas-set’s work under the basket was verywell done.As an added feature to the game, -“Seeds” Mallon had the idea of bring-
ing over a fife and drum corps todrown out Manhasset’s corps. Theidea worked. As soon as Port’s “mu-sicians” arrived they filled the placewith noise. We suggest that “Seeds”institute regular pract ice and takehis gang on as many future dates aspossible.Port Washington (19 G. F. P.. 3 0 6
