HoLa - Middle School Winter Concert The Middle School Winter Concert is tonight in the Rue Building gym! Please drop your child off at 6:15pm, in proper attire and ready to perform at the event. The students should head up to the cafeteria before the concert starts to prep. While you wait for the concert to start, grab some refreshments! Looking forward to seeing you there! Sibling Applications A reminder that HoLa siblings get preference in our lottery. However, you must fill out the application for any siblings entering the school next year, so we can reserve the spots. The deadline for applications into the 2016-17 school year is January 8th, so don’t delay: http://holahoboken.org/admissions/admissions_2016-2017 HoLa Read-a-thon The owl is back! Hola's Read-a-Thon starts today and will run through January 19th. You and your student(s) should have received your login(s) and information packet(s) last week. If you haven't received yours or are having any trouble activating your account, please let your class parents know. We will have plenty of fun prizes and friendly competition throughout the month. Our first round of winners will be announced early next week and prizes include a gift card to WORD bookstore in Jersey City, free cones from Ben & Jerry's, and first possession of the HoLa Read-a-Thon trophy. There's plenty more to come! Stay tuned.

Enrichment Offerings The Winter Enrichment offerings packet will go home Monday, and online registration will be held on Tues., Dec. 22nd at 8pm. Congratulations to Srta. Fabregues! A welcome to a new addition to our HoLa family -- Amelia Sofia Fabregues! Many congratulations and well-wishes to Srta. Fabregues and her family on their beautiful daughter. CyberPatriot Competition Updates CyberPatriot Round 2 official results have been posted! Our 6th grade team and 7th grade team are semifinalists—congrats! Unfortunately our 5th grade team did not qualify this time around, but those students will continue with us and gain additional experience as the 6th and 7th grade teams train for the semifinals! Please note that the teams will resume meetings after January 6th. CyberPatriot does not resume with the semifinals practice round until late January. Glow-in-the-dark Volleyball Thank Yous A big thank you to all the people who attended and assisted with Glow-in-the-dark Volleyball! The kids had a blast!

Let’s get the community involved: www.facebook.com/HoLaHoboken.org Help Support Backpacks for Better In order to combat food insecurity among children, the NJHS is collecting non-perishable, nutritious, easy-to-prepare food items for Backpacks for Better. We also need donated drawstring bags. Backpacks will be organized, packed, and donated to the Hopes program in the Rue building each Friday. Backpacks and food items can be dropped off in Mrs. Medina's room. This collection will be ongoing throughout the year. With your help, we can meet this relevant need in our community on a continual basis!
