 Geologists think that the specific shape of the hills is

caused by the influences of the weather during millions of 

years. The breaking down of the upper layers of the

limestone formations, followed by the erosion processes,

resulted in these remnants in the shape of cones. In the

rainy season the Chocolate Hills are green. In the dryseason of each year, the vegetation on the hills gives the

landscape a brown colored view, a reason to call them

"Chocolate Hills".

The smallest monkey 

 A reason to visit the main island Bohol, is that Bohol sti ll has tropicalrainforests in the higher parts of the island. Moreover, If you want to meet

the smallest monkey on earth, the Tarsier, you'll have to visit Bohol! Theaverage size of this little creature is between 90 to 160 mm (3.5 to 6.25inches). The weight is between 70 to 165 grams.

Hoyop-Hoyopan Cave

Hoyop-hoyopan Cave was said to be developedduring the time of the Marcos’s and that the disco floor was built in honour  to the First Lady ImeldaMarcos. Of the three caves in Camalig, Albay, Hoyop hoyopan is the most popular and accessible for thevisitors. The cave is a three-storey cave and one would have to spend 11 hours to be able to completelyexplore the cave.

There are 2 camps when travelling up to the summit of Mount Mayon. Camp 1 is around 2 hours awayand lies at the foot of the slope of the mountain. Camp 2 is situated beside a dry waterfall bed or popularly known as the “gulley” or “water source”, climbers reach this camp site after a four to five hour long trek and climb from the base camp. Camp 2 also offers spectacular view of the city of Legazpi andthe ocean.

From Camp 2, there would be a 5 to 7 hours hard trek to reach the crater of Mount Mayon. Trekkerswould be passing straight up the gulley towards the summit. This part of the leg is definitely not for theweak as this is best recommended for intermediate or advanced climbers. Upon reaching the summit,you will be rewarded with an unbelievable view of the Legaspi City and the islands beside it.

One of the newest spot in the Legaspi City, the Embarcadero de Legazpi takes pride of its state of the artfacilities from its commercial hubs, entertainment centers, and cafe’s and shops, restaurants, bowlingalleys, arcades and a whole lot more. The mall offers not just simple shopping and indoor activities but it

has also offers extreme sports such as go karting, zip line, rappelling, jet ski and segway PT. The coldbreeze from the sea, the lights from the towers of the mall and the undeniably fun activities atEmbarcadero is a great stop for tourists.

Bicol Cuisines 

Bicolano’s are famous for using coconut cream “gata” and chili “sili” in their regular menu. Known for thepopular Bicol Express, Bicol also offers a cuisine that is really Bicolano, the Laing or “pinangat” which ismade from taro leaves, filled with shredded taro leaves and bits of meat and lots of chillies to taste, andthe best tasting “Kinunot” which is made from stingray meat and malunggay leaves. These three Bicolcuisines are cooked and simmered steady in coconut cream and chilies. Famous restaurants include:Sibiu- sibid Restaurant and the Waway’s Restaurant.
