The New Capital is considered one of the most iconic urban mega projects in Egypt in the twenty first century. It aims to provide multiple visions for Egyptian citizens as well as foreign
investors.
The main landmark for this urban masterpiece will be El-Fattah El-Aleem Grand Mosque which has been chosen at the main en-
trance and focal point of the city.
Due to Arch. Hassan Rashdan’s dedication and excellence in de-signing and constructing landmark mosques all over the mid-dle east for the past 40 years, he was hand picked by the presi-dent of the republic of Egypt to design and construct this mega project. Aiming to make it the main mosque of Egypt in terms of scale, location and purpose. The time frame for projeect com-pletion is 1 year as stated by the president on live tv on 7/1/2016.

Site Location
The project will consist of a main prayer hall, out door prayer space, a raised women prayer hall, public library, history muse-um, hospital, learning center, and multi-purpose halls.
The whole project area is around 45,000 meters squared with a capacity of 20,000 persons. The multi-purpose halls can take up to 4,000 persons, the hospital can take up to 200 beds.
This project will consist of state of the art technology in terms of energy sustainability and usage. Solar energy is suggested as a source of energy to produce power for lighting, air condi-tioning, and running this mega project.
All materials used are locally manufactured to ensure that during the construction phase, this project will provide a chance for jobs for the Egyptian people.
