Planning Stepsfor competent advice

Select a suitable system according to project size and customer´s needs:

a) ekey home b) ekey multic) ekey net

Select the most suitable finger scanner based on its design and its mounting method:

a) wall-mounted (with or without accessories)b) integra including wall-mounting kit for installation into a wall, or without such a kit for integration into door leafs or door frames c) outlet-mounted for integration into gang boxes or entrance panels

Select a suitable control panel on the basis of certain criteria (only applicable for ekey home):

a) wall-mounted, or DIN-rail mounted for installation in the electrical cabinet (distribution board)b) desired amount of relay outputs, e.g. to open the front door (relay 1), arm/disarm the intrusion alarm system (relay 2), etc.

ATTENTION: Each fingerprint is assigned to a specific relay output (refer to the „Single family home“ sample project on page 4).

Select a power supply. Please pay attention to the following:

a) standard power supplyb) convenient DIN-rail mounted power supply for electrical cabinet ATTENTION: When integrating into entrance panels, a suitable power supply is often already available.ATTENTION: Check required voltage and amperage of door strike, motor lock, etc. A suitable power supply is also often supplied along with motor locks.

Regarding door strikes and motor locks, please pay attention to the following:

a) A door strike is low cost, but the door is not deadlocked. b) A motor lock deadlocks the door automatically (via spring clips or a motor) and unlocks the door electrically (motorized). Advise your customer to purchase a motor lock along with the new door!

The front door and the garage door are to be controlled via finger scanner.

The customer´s requirements:

• Keyless access for all family members.• Front door and garage door are to be controlled

via the finger scanner mounted at the front door. Two different fingers are to be used. The index finger unlocks the front door via relay output 1. The middle finger opens the garage door via relay output 2.

• Simple programming via the control panel.

The solution from the installer:

• Simple installation of the new ekey home FS OM finger scanner and the convenient ekey home CP DRM 2 control panel.

• A future system expansion (e.g. need for an intrusion alarm system, opening the garage door, etc.) would be even easier if the larger control panel with two or three relay outputs is installed right from the beginning.

The solution from the installer:

• The family has unrestricted access (time zone „always“) everywhere

• From the scanner at the front door, both the gate and the garage door can be opened
