    We have planned for it, worked for it, prayed for it, and together we now prepare to reap the harvest for the

    Lord! This is just a gentle reminder that Sabbath May 4, will be another exciting Vision One Million Celebrationand we expect to see a number of our local churches engaging candidates in baptism.     (2) EJC hosts Childrens Convention at Stadium Community Church- May 4, 2013

    The Childrens Ministries Department of East Jamaica Conference will host their annual convention service on

    Sabbath May 4, 2013 at the Stadium Community SDA Church under the theme: His Word, Our Guide. Join

    them at 9:15am for a day of soul stirring musical renditions and inspiration spoken messages as our children

    lead out in our worship services. Its a spirit-filled occasion you cant afford to miss! Take the entire family

    and your friends to Convention 2013 and lets celebrate God in style!

    (3) Publishing Ministries Department celebrates Publishing Day 2013- May 11, 2013

    Sabbath, May 11 will be EJC Publishing Day at King's Chapel SDA Church, Windward Rd. Sabbath

    School will begin at 9:15 a.m. Special feature of the day will be the Publishing Symposium at 4:00 p.m.

    where we will learn more about the Publishing Ministry in EJC. We invite all Pastors, Publishing Directors

    Heads of Departments and members in general (zones 1 - 4) to be there.

    (4) Notices from the Education Department

    A. Please be reminded that Education Week begins on Monday, May 5 and ends on Sabbath May 11 with

    a grand Education Day celebration in all our churches. The Sermon to be used for Education Day on

    Sabbath May 11, 2013 may be found on the East Jamaica Conference Website.

    B. We also invite you to pray for all of our students especially those that are doing external examinations

    C. On Wednesday May 7, 2013 the Nation will be celebrating Teacher's Day and the Education Departmen

    would like to wish for all our Teachers , "Happy Teacher's Day when it comes"

    D. "What office is there which involves more responsibility, which requires more qualifications, andwhich ought, therefore, to be more honorable than teaching? (Aristotle)"

    E. Education Directors are kindly asked to send in their reports along with pictures highlighting the variou

    activities that took place within Education Week, Such reports should be emailed to

    (5) Notices from the Youth Ministries Department

    A. Day of Prayer for Youth: On May 11, 2013 the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists

    Youth Ministries Department will have a special day of prayer for its youth with the settled confidence

    that prayer changes things. We invite not only our youth but also our more experienced and spiritually

    mature members to join us in intercession on behalf our youth and the challenges they grapple with

    Lets Pray Until Something Happens (P.U.S.H). Please see document attached.

    B. Booklets may be obtained in one of three ways:

    1) Downloading and printing from www.ejcyouth.webs.com orwww.ejctrains.webs.comfree of cost

    or

    2) Some booklets are at EJC and can be purchased at cost of $50 each. Please call Sis Polly Wiggan in

    advance and ensure the booklets you need are in stock. Payment should be made on receipt of booklets

    or

    3) Collection at the Registration Desk on the Honours Day at cost of $50 each.

    (Please note that al though some booklets are in stock, general ly, booklets being ordered for collection

    from EJC must be ordered at least two (2) weeks in advance.)

    C. The Uniform Handbook from IAD is now available at the Conference. Its a must have as the

    changes/new format will be mandatory for Pathfinder Festival in November. Cost is $500.00 per copy

    D. Sports Evangelism kicks off on May 18, 2013 with a dress parade and rally. The completion itsel

    begins on May 25, 2013. These events will commence at 7:30pm SHARP! Registration cost per team

    $5,000.00 (to be paid at the EJC Office by May 13, 2013). Please check the youth website a

    ejcyouth.webs.com for flyer and further details.

    E. Summer Camp: The annual summer camp will be held from August 13-20, 2013 at Robins Bay. Coshas been reduced to $6, 000 (includes a T-Shirt). Groups of five will enjoy a further 5% discount. Each

    church is being asked to send a delegate. Youth start planning to be there. Last year was great but this

    year promises to be greater, more fun, fellowship and spiritual nurture. Summer Camp is for everyone

    not just members. Registration closes on July 26, 2013. Forms can be accessed from the EJC website

    ABSOLUTELY NO LATE FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED!!!

    F. Bible Boom: Keep promoting the Bible Boom and make plans to conduct your church and district play

    offs scheduled for June and July respectively. For further details please see the Bible Boom flyer on the

    EJC website or contact the Bible Boom Coordinator, Angela Bernard [email protected]

    G. Labour Day Projects: If you havent started planning your district and zonal projects you are late

    Catch the moving train and lets go!!!

    (6) Notices from the Childrens Ministries Department

    A. Convention 2013 will be held at the Stadium Community Church on May 4, 2013. The dress code iswhite dresses with pink and blue accessories and dark bottom pants and white, blue or pink shirts

    B. 13. Come join in the fun. Meals will be provided. See application form and flyer for details.

    C. All visa applicants to ASI Mission trip are asked to meet at 5 p.m. at EJC on Tuesday, May 72013. Please take your valid passports along.

    D. St. Thomas CMDs, kindly send us the names of all children that are to be trained in the Child

    Preachers Training, immediately. Your facilitators are ready to begin. The training will be done in St.

    Thomas.

    E. Childrens ministries team leaders, lets pray and plan to reap at least one soul per quarter per church

    May is the month of special reaping for our department. Since our mandate is soul reaping, this is a

    reminder that all CMDs are expected to engage our children in their own crusades or the crusades in

    their churches as well as BAPTISMS.

    F. Child Preachers Training session will continue this Sunday, May 5, 2013, from 9 a.m.12 noonat the

    EJC Board Room. Child Preachers' Training can be done at your church. Kindly solicit assistance from

    your Pastor and Elder. Our objective is to enable every child to become a disciple for Jesus through

    providing doctrinal activities to keep them engaged in the 'Word' and loyal to God and His Church.

    The course outline is available at the office. Graduation will be September 2013.

    G. Womens Ministries / GEMS Retreat will be held at the Holiday Inn Resort from October 24 -27, 2013

    The office is now accepting payments. Book early and save.

    (7) Notices from the Womens Ministries Department

    A. Come mark the moments with our women as they pause for their International Womens EmphasiDay on June 8, 2013 in all churches.

    B. All are invited to the EJC I.M.A.P. launch which will be held on June 15, 2013. The speaker willbe Dr. Eric Nathan. IMAP is an initiative geared at women supporting each other in heightening

    and enriching the support that they give to their spouses. Reserved seating will be available for yournon SDA friends. Kindly collect invitations for special seating. Its family evangelism time. Bringyour friends. Come learn and then go share.

    C. 5K Health Run/Walk and Childrens fun day is a big affair that no one should miss. This will beheld on June 5, 2013. Come join in the fun. Meals will be provided. See application form and flyerfor details.

    D. All womens and childrens ministries team members are invited to a day of relaxation on SundayJune 23, 2013 @ the Mahogany Beach, Ocho Rios, St. Ann.Transportation cost will be coveredfor the first 50 persons who book on or before June 12, 2013 . Entry fee J$300.00. Please takeyour picnic baskets along.

    E. Retreat 2013 plans are in full gear. The office is now accepting deposits. Book early and save.Mentors your place is reserved. Fun loving adults who are not mentors, come for a full package ophysical rejuvenation from October 24 -27, 2013.

    F. Moms in Touchis the initiative that is aimed at caregivers spending time in prayer. WMDs pleaseensure that this is an active programme under your leadership. More than ever, Moms especiallyneed to be praying together.

    Please be reminded that as at January 5, 2013, and by now all our Sabbath Schools should be on the new orrenewed programme:

    Interactive reading/learning strategy for the bible study/review Vertical meditation for each unit member

    (9) Gordon Town SDA Church hosts Blessed Hope Gospel Series

    The Gordon Town SDA Church presents the Blessed Hope Gospel Series with dynamic Evangelist Odiaka Walker

    and Co- Evangelist- Pastor Anthony Taylor, from Sunday April 28, to Sunday May 22, 2013. This event will be

    held at the Gordon Town SDA Church, and we ask that where possible, you seek to support this evangelistic

    venture.

    (10) Northern Caribbean University hosts Projects Day 2013

    The Northern Caribbean University presents Projects Day 2013 under the theme: Throw a lifeline, he lp

    struggling young people achieve their educational goals. We invite you to make a special donation, where

    possible, at your local church on Sabbath May 25, or directly to NCU. Your donation will help to:

    Control rising tuition fees

    Make more scholarships for needy students available

    Increase access to quality Christian Education

    Empower Church members for greater ministry
