TextI am a race car driver. I’ll be the first to admit that I drive
dangerously. Yet, I’ve never gotten a ticket. No police officer has ever even told me, “I want you to slow down”. Even though I spend a lot of time driving, I never really arrive at a destination.
I am a veterinarian. My waiting room is often very loud and occasionally fights break out between my patients. Sometimes I have to force them to cooperate. My patients never thank me. However, many of them still show me a tremendous amount of affection.
I am a screenwriter. I usually work from home the entire day. Yet even if I’m alone, all day I hear other people’s conversation. I’m always putting words in other people’s mouths. I tell them what to say and when to say it. But they never annoyed by it.
I am a model. I often get all dressed up, even though I have nowhere to go. All day people tell me what to do. First they demand that I move, and then they tell me to stop. However they are respectful and I don’t mind. It’s all part of my job.
I am a surgeon. I spend a lot of time cutting and sewing, but I don’t work with fabric. The people I work for never see me do my work. In fact, they are often asleep when I’m at work. But I have no doubt that they appreciate what I do. I certainly get a great deal of satisfaction from my job.
I am a social worker. I often ask that people tell me very personal things about their lives. For example, sometimes I ask
people about their income, their material status, and their employment status. They usually don’t mind my questions.
