Two Ways of Cleaning

Mechanical cleaning


• The commonly method to remove such depositsby mechanical pigging. The pig is repeatedly sentthrough the pipeline to swap deposits from thatpipeline until hardly any deposit can be found

• When a pig moves through a pipeline, it willfeature some carry over of deposit material, Thedebris will be displaced from the 6 o'clockposition to 360° around the pipe wall, coating thepipeline wall with a thin deposit layer.

Advanced chemical cleaning

• Chemical cleaning in conjunction with the useof mechanical pigs removes a greater volumeof debris with fewer runs.

• Chemical cleaning, by definition, means theuse of liquid cleaners mixed in a diluent(water, diesel, methanol, iso-propyl-alcoholand the like) to form a cleaning solution thatcan be pushed through a pipeline by pigs.
