Order of Service
Processional: O Come All Ye Faithful
(Congregation stand)
O, come, all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant!
O, come ye, o, come ye to Bethlehem;
Come and behold him
Born the king of angels:
Cho: Oh, come, let us adore him,
Oh, come, let us adore him,
Oh, come, let us adore him,
Christ the Lord.
God of God, Light of light
Lo, he abhors not the virgin’s womb,
Very God, begotten, not created
Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!
Glory to God In the highest:
Yea, Lord, we greet thee,
Born this happy morning;
Jesus, to thee be glory given!
Word of the Father,
Now in flesh appearing!
Bidding Prayer
(Congregation remains standing)
Dear people of God, in this season of Advent , it is our responsibility
and joy to prepare ourselves to hear once more the message of the
angels, and in heart and mind go to Bethlehem and see the Son of God
lying in a manger.
4
Let us hear in Holy Scripture the story of God’s loving purpose in
choosing us to be His adopted children in Christ, before the foundation
of the world..
But first, let us pray for the needs of the whole world; for peace and
justice on earth; for the unity and mission of the one Holy Catholic and
Apostolic Church for which He died.
Let us remember, in Christ’s name, the poor and helpless, the cold, the
hungry and the oppressed, our inner city areas and its environs, and all
places of conflict in this our Jamaica, land we love; all who are sick
and who mourn, the lonely and unloved, the aged and infirmed, little
children, as well as those who do not know and love the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Finally, let us remember all those who rejoice with us, but upon
another shore, and in a greater light, that multitude which no one can
number, in communion with blessed Mary, Mother of our Lord and
blessed Andrew our Patron Saint, whose hope was in the Word made
flesh, and with whom in the Lord Jesus we are one for evermore.
And now, to sum up all these petitions, let us pray in the words which
Christ has taught us saying:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be your Name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
save us from the time of trial
And deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
Are yours now and forever. Amen.
Leader: Let us bless the living God:
He was born of the Virgin Mary,
5
All: Revealed in his glory
Leader: Worshipped by angels,
All: Proclaimed among the nations,
Leader: Blessed be God, our strength and our salvation,
All: Now and forever. Amen.

The First Nowell ……...Choir & Congregation
The First Noel, the Angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter's night that was so deep.
Cho: Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night.
And by the light of that same star
Three Wise men came from country far
To seek for a King was their intent
And to follow the star wherever it went.
This star drew nigh to the northwest
O'er Bethlehem it took its rest
And there it did both stop and stay
Right o'er the place where Jesus lay.
Then entered in those Wise men three
Full reverently upon their knee
And offered there in His presence
gold and myrrh and frankincense.
Then let us all with one accord
Sing praises to our heavenly Lord
That hath made Heaven and earth of nought
And with his blood our life hath bought.

Oh yes, believer!
Oh yes, believer!
He come from the glory
He come from the glorious kingdom.
The angels sang when the babe was born
The angels sang when the babe was born

See Him Lying on a bed of Straw…………...Choir & Congregation
See him lying on a bed of straw:
a draughty stable with an open door;
Mary cradling the babe she bore
the Prince of glory is his name.
Cho: Now carry me to Bethlehem
to see the Lord appear again:
just as poor as was the stable then,
the Prince of glory when He came.
Star of silver, sweep across the skies,
show where Jesus in the manger lies;
shepherds, swiftly from your stupor rise
to see the Saviour of the world!
Angels, sing the song that you began,
bring God’s glory to the heart of man;
sing that Bethl'em's little baby can
be salvation to the soul.
Mine are riches, from your poverty,
from your innocence, eternity;
mine, forgiveness by your death for me,
child of sorrow for my joy.
For Unto us a Child is Born………………….Choir

Shepherds go to Bethlehem
Do You Hear What I Hear ……….. Choir & Congregation
Said the night wind to the little lamb
Do you see what I see?
Way up in the sky little lamb,
Do you see what I see?
A star, a star dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite,
With a tail as big as a kite.
10
Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy
Do you hear what I hear
Ringing through the sky shepherd boy
Do you hear what I hear
A song, a song high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea
Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king
Do you know what I know
In your palace warm mighty king
Do you know what I know
A child, a child shivers in the cold
Let us bring him silver and gold
Let us bring him silver and gold
Said the king to the people everywhere
Listen to what I say
Pray for peace, people, everywhere
Listen to what I say
The child, the child
Sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light

"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Leader: The lord be with you
All: And also with you
Leader: Let us pray
A Collect for the occasion shall be said
Then follows the blessing:
Leader: (Bow you head for God’s Blessing)
To the prayers of the saints I commend you.
May the most pure Virgin, Mother of God, and St. Andrew our Patron
Saint, pray for you. May the Sun of Righteousness shine upon you and
scatter the darkness from before our path; and the blessing of God Al-
mighty, the \Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be among you and re-
main with you always.
Amen
Recessional Hymn: Jesus me Lord and Saviour
(Folk tune: Nobody’s Business)
Long time ago the angel did fortell
That we would be saved from sin and hell
When Christ our Saviour came to earth
Of a virgin fair He would be born
God the father’s sole-begotten Son
Help us proclaim our Saviour’s birth.
Cho:
Jesus, my Lord and Saviour
Jesus, our one Deliverer
Jesus you are the Conqueror
My soul, take it and use it
My life to you I give it
My Lord, my Saviour and my God.
13
Shepherds were the first to hear the strain
Glory in the highest, sweet refrain
Peace and goodwill toward all men
When the wisemen saw the Eastern star
They journeyed from their country far
Bearing much rich and costly gem
Herod was not very pleased to hear
Tidings which these wise men now did bear
“King of Jews is born today”
So much so he ordered priests and scribes
Old men, young men, husbands and their wives
To seek out where the young child lay.
