You Should Know *
Minimum 24 units with 3.0 cumulative GPA:
- 10 units of 200-level EECS courses (not 298 or 299)
- 4-10 units of 299 for PLAN I
OR 3-6 units of 299 for PLAN II
- Remaining units can be 100- or 200-level courses from any department (as approved by your advisor).
All courses should be taken for a letter grade except 299s, which are taken as S/U. No credit for D+ or below.

– 10 units of 200-level EECS courses – 6-8 units individual research project – 8 units outside EECS
• High flexibility - You create your degree– Thesis topics negotiated between you & your advisor– Must start thinking about it now!
• Backdating Graduate Courses– Courses may be backdated from last undergraduate semester– Can only count courses that was not previously used towards another
degree – Submit petition to Staff Graduate Advisor
