Abstract

The goal of this project is to create an Infinity mirror using a 120V AC wall socket with color variation controlled by a dial. The voltage rectification will be hidden on the mirror within the construction. For the LEDs we will be utilizing an LED strip for better power regulation and less voltage and current loss. DC voltage will be supplied via step down transformer, full wave bridge rectifier, and a dc voltage regulator chip.

Specifications● The mirror will be powered from a 120V wall socket. A step down

transformer, full wave bridge rectifier, and filter will provide an input to a 12V linear regulator.

● The LED strips will be powered from the 12V supply.● Color control will be achieved using a potentiometer to vary input voltage to

the LEDs.● The system will be controlled ON/OFF from a switch between the step-down

transformer and the full wave bridge rectifier● An LED indicating power status will be driven from the low voltage side of the

transformer.● Fuses will be used to prevent burning out components.

Testing● Plug in and we dont die● Power available LED turns on when power is supplied● Verify that the rectified voltage wont burn the L7812 chip● Verify output voltage● Verify the individual LEDs can be controlled via dials
