Edvard Munch is a famous painter.

• Edvard Munch was born in a rustic farmhouse in the village of Løten, Norway.

• He was born on December the 12th of 1863.

• He was Norwegian.

Edvard Munch died in Norway the 23rd of January of 1944.

His mother and sister died when he was a child.

So, he was a sad man.

He studied at University to become an engineer.

But, he needed to express his feelings.

So he started to paint.

He went to Paris.

He liked Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, and Henri Toulouse-

Lautrec

Munch considered them his teachers.

Edvard Munch started a new artistic movement:

•EXPRESSIONISMHe said: “I want to paint living people, breathing and feeling, suffering and loving.”

There are two persons on the bridge.

They look like ghosts.
