• Introduce participants to the BEC and its on-line information resources• Familiarize participants with Educator Certification in

Florida• Familiarize participants with information provided via

available resources• Instruct participants how to access each resource• Advise participants who is authorized for access to

each resource

• Inform participants of reporting based on certification data

Certification Purpose and Mission

• Purpose: To protect the educational interests of students, parents, and the public at large by assuring that teachers in this state are professionally qualified.

• Mission: To provide timely, accurate and efficient certification services to increase the supply of highly qualified, certified educators, improving achievement for all students.
