Delaware County Community College EducationalFoundation's primary mission is to support students. The Foundation's commitment to student success is evident from the many scholarships and awardsdescribed in these pages. Eligibility criteria areestablished by the donors themselves. While academicmerit and financial need are the most common criteria,other factors frequently considered are academic major,geographical location or special circumstances, such as “mature women” or “part-time students.” All students are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and to apply as directed.

The Foundation also provides awards for faculty,alumni, students and staff members based on teachingperformance, professional accomplishments, academicachievements and other measures.

The application cycle begins in Februaryand ends in April. Scholarships are awarded in late spring andearly summer. Students are notified in writing if selectedand the awards are credited to their accounts prior to the start of fall semester, unless otherwise noted.

The Gould Award, presented annuallyat Commencement, was awarded to Dr. Sidney Kolpas, Assistant Professorof Mathematics, by Michael L. Ranck,Chair, Board of Trustees, and Presidentand CEO, Community YMCA ofDelaware County.

The Foundation recognizes the outstanding performance of faculty, staff, students and alumni. Part-time faculty members with superior teaching skills receive Excellence in Teaching Awards. Competitive mini-grants, administered through theCenter for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, are awarded to facultyand staff members who develop innovative programs to improvestudent success.
