Delaware County Community College EducationalFoundation's primary mission is to support students. The Foundation's commitment to student success is evident from the many scholarships and awardsdescribed in these pages. Eligibility criteria areestablished by the donors themselves. While academicmerit and financial need are the most common criteria,other factors frequently considered are academic major,geographical location or special circumstances, such as “mature women” or “part-time students.” All students are encouraged to review eligibility requirements and to apply as directed.

The Foundation also provides awards for faculty,alumni, students and staff members based on teachingperformance, professional accomplishments, academicachievements and other measures.

DCCC is the center of educational opportunity in Delaware and Chester Counties. Students findsuccess through associate degree and certificateprograms, a clear-cut course to a bachelor's degree,career advancement opportunities or personalfulfillment. With locations throughout Delaware and Chester Counties, the College serves more than27,000 students annually.

Anyone may establish a scholarship or award or contribute to an existing fund by making agift to the Educational Foundation. Gifts of all amountsare welcome. Newly established scholarships and awardsmay be named for the donor, such as a corporation orindividual, or in memory of or in honor of a loved one.

All contributions are placed into restricted accounts and used exclusively for the designated scholarship oraward. Scholarships are credited to the recipients' accountsfor tuition or books. Awards are presented at varioustimes, as dictated by the nature of the award.

Donors can establish a scholarship or award that will exist in perpetuity with a minimum contribution of $10,000. The interest generated on the principal of the fund is awardedannually. The original gift is preservedfor future generations. Endowedscholarships and awards are a vital part of the College's endowment which ismanaged by professional portfoliomanagers with oversight by theFoundation's Finance Committee.

Students are encouraged to apply for the scholarships set forth in this brochure. To apply, refer to the eligibility criteria and application instructions. The application cycle begins in Februaryand ends in April. Information about the applicationcycle is on the College website (www.dccc.edu) for newstudents and in the student portal delaGATE for currentstudents. Scholarships are awarded in late spring andearly summer. Students are notified in writing if selectedand the awards are credited to their accounts prior to the start of fall semester, unless otherwise noted.

Students applying for scholarships must file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)available online at www.dccc.edu, in the Financial Aid office and in area libraries.

The Foundation’s annual dinner honors the more than 100 scholarship donors and 200 student recipients. Donors are recognized for their generosity and students for their accomplishments.
