Anglia Ruskin University was founded as the Cambridge School of Art by John Ruskin in
1858. Today, with a traditional history and a student population of 31,000, we are one of the
largest modern universities in England.

1. Overview
The University of South Wales was formed recently through a merger of the University of
Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport to become one of the largest universities in
the UK and the largest in Wales with 33,000 students.
