ALMIS Familiarization Program for Al Muntazir Primary

Schools’ Grade 7 Parents.

On Saturday 19th May 2018, ALMIS hosted the parents of Grade 7 pupils from the

Al Muntazir Primary schools for a presentation and information sharing meeting on the

transition of their children from primary to secondary school.

The Program started with a presentation by ALMIS Principal, Mr. Rueben Kimani, who

gave a talk on the history of ALMIS, the changes parents should expect in secondary

school life, the organizational structure of the school, physical and educational

resources as well as the recent infrastructural improvements achieved over the last

few months.

The Deputy Principal (Academic), Mr. AbdulWahid Zakaria then gave a presentation on

the Cambridge curriculum, followed by the Secondary 1 Coordinator, Mr. Maisam Fazal

gave a brief overview on Secondary 1 and the subjects covered leading to the

Checkpoint exam.

There was an interesting question and answer session at the end of the presentations

with the parents, followed by a detailed tour of the campus facilities, with special

emphasis on the Libraries and Labs, by the ALMIS Staff for the parents.

Parents were generally happy with the talks and said that they are now better

prepared to enroll their children to Form 1.
