In fact, the Government—through schemes such as the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology, the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning and ICT@Schools—is leveraging technology for distributing video and web-based course content as well as offline multimedia educational content. The Government has allocated 100 crore for setting up virtual classrooms as Communication Linked Interface for Cultivating Knowledge and online courses in the 2014-15 budget.

The Indian education sector is estimated to reach 6,02,410 crore by FY15 on the back of what is expected to be a strong demand for quality in education, according to India Ratings, a Fitch Group company.
