What’s in a Name?
Who says that you cannot reconsider and reconfigure your name? Or who says that the name you have isn’t the perfect one to sum up you? You make the call. Craft an artistic exploration and tribute to your name. Make this piece mostly visual, with any number of words that you choose to add. Focus on color, image, shape, texture, and arrangements of pictures to create a symbolic portrait of your name. Be prepared to explain your work of art to the class in a short presentation.
Remember to include both your given and surname.
Possible inspirations include the following:
What is your full name? What are your nicknames? Your initials? What are all the possible spellings of your name? What is your name’s origin and link with family
ancestry? How has your name appeared in songs? If your
name were music, what kind would it be?How is your name used in media? (movies, TV,
advertisements, etc.)
What is your name in other languages? What colors, shapes and images come to mind
when you hear your name? What famous people share your name? How did your parents choose your name? How do you feel about your name? History of your name?
Be creative and original and look for a sustainability angle to your name : )
