1 Job Title: Education and Outreach Coordinator Job Description: Lyth Arts Centre (LAC) is looking to recruit an Education and Outreach Coordinator to lead on the delivery of LAC’s education and outreach programme. We are seeking an inspiring and dynamic individual, who is confident in engaging with local groups, including young people. The post will be stimulating and flexible, involving regular engagement with professional artists working at LAC and connecting them with our local community. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Build relationships with local organised groups (including schools, colleges, Fèis and music groups, youth clubs, theatre groups etc ) across Caithness and North Sutherland Identify developmental opportunities for masterclasses and one-to-one tuition in Caithness and North Sutherland through LAC’s public programme Organise workshops and educational opportunities for groups and individuals identified through the above and attend workshops Where relevant / necessary deliver or support the delivery of workshops Work closely with LAC Co-Directors to identify workshop and educational opportunities through the public programme Work closely with LAC Marketing Manager to ensure that opportunities are reaching a wide, but targeted audience in line with LAC’s Marketing and Audience Development Strategy Work within project budgets to ensure the project is delivered on budget General Always act in accordance with LAC’s policies and procedures including Equalities (including diversity, access, equal opportunities) and Environmental policies. Actively keep up to date with the artistic programme Contribute to some of the wider policies and objectives of LAC aims and objectives e.g. green initiatives, strategic ideas etc Attend monthly all team meetings Any other duties as reasonably required Responsible To: Co-Directors and working closely with the General Manager, Marketing Manager, freelance staff and visiting artists at Lyth Arts Centre.

Person Specification • Background in the arts sector, ideally in a similar post • Experience of working with local community organisations/groups, particularly

young people • An interest in arts and culture • Experience initiating and running arts projects • An understanding of the factors that cause social exclusion and experience of

inclusive arts practice • Training in and experience of working within safeguarding policies and procedures • Experience of gathering monitoring and evaluation information for reporting • Excellent time management skills • A creative approach to problem solving • Ability to work independently and as part of a teamwork • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities • The role will require some travel to different groups / schools that may not be well

served by public transport so the successful candidate must be able to arrange this / have own car (mileage expenses available)

• The role will require the successful candidate to have an Enhanced Disclosure. If you do not have one, LAC will work with the successful candidate to get this.

Desirable Qualities/skills:

• Experience of working with young people with disabilities and additional needs • Experience of delivering Accreditation (i.e Arts Awards, etc.) • Experience of working in partnership with non-arts organisations • Knowledge of Caithness community • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure • Knowledge of digital social media • Fundraising

Terms & Conditions Based at: Lyth Arts Centre with outreach sessions and meetings anticipated across the county Salary: £15,600 (3 days a week @ £26,000 pro rate). Paid monthly via PAYE. We are open to flexible working around other commitments Working hours: 3 days a week. Flexible - evening and weekend work will be required Term of contract: Initially until December 2021.
