Educating Communities
K-6 Whole School Assembly The Whole School K-6 Assembly will be held next Monday,
the 9th December. The assembly will commence at 9:30am
and will be held under the school shade cloth area. Some
seating is provided, but we suggest that you bring your own
chair for the proceedings. Please ensure you have turned off
your mobile phone or have it on silent so that disruptions
are minimal. Thank you for your consideration.
Band 2014
Numbers are looking good for Music Lessons and our Band
in 2014. If you haven't sent your contract back to Allan
Ward, please do so ASAP. Contracts can be sent directly to
Allan Ward Music or to the office. If you have not received a
contract please contact either Mr Ward or Mrs Hookway.
Junior Choir Performance
Well done to all the Junior Choir members who performed
for the 'National Seniors Meeting' at East Maitland Bowling
Club, You all looked very proud to be representing our
school. The audience was thoroughly entertained with a
variety of songs including a few Christmas tunes. The
National Seniors Organisation kindly donated $50 to our
school, which will be used on future resources.

As it is week nine we probably won’t have a regular type
newsletter again this year, so I would like to wish everybody a FANTASTIC Christmas break and I look forward to working
with you all again next year. Students resume on Wednesday 29th January (except for Kindergarten).
On Friday at Presentation Day I will have the opportunity to pass on my thanks to all those who have contributed to
making East Maitland Public School the best school in the land in 2013, but for those of you who cannot make it I
extend my thanks to you.
I would like to personally thank each and every child for the
effort they have made this year.
I would like thank the teachers and all the support staff for their time and dedication that ensures every child is guided
carefully through their primary school journey.
I would like to thank the parents and community for the part
they play in our school.
I thank you all for your kindness, appreciation, patience and support.
Presentation Day
Our annual Presentation Day will be held this Friday at
Maitland Federation Centre. It will commence at 9:30am
sharp. Please be aware that seating is limited so it would be
advisable for you to bring your own chair for this event.
Toilet facilities are available at the venue. We look forward
to sharing this special day with you.

Your chance to win Full School Uniform

other prizes please leave at the office by 9am Friday
morning.

VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TREE.
This is going to be a very popular prize
and hopefully a nice $ reward for the
winner.

Snow cones, Tea and Coffee will also be

Bring a Chair, or picnic rug and enjoy the entertainment
provided by the Children.
BBQ will be served from 5pm till 6pm so everyone can then
enjoy the entertainment.
The more Assistance we have the quicker everyone can be
served.
BBQ Cooks - We need your HELP on Tuesday 10th
December to assist with cooking and serving.

A Big Big Thankyou to Rob and Debbie Twaddell for
arranging the PA System and Cool Room for Carols Night.
Due to the generosity of Rob and Debbie this year you will
be able to hear your Children singing clearly through a PA
system.
Drinks will be kept cool and
refreshing thanks to the Donation of
a cool room.

dedication to the school is very much

The Uniform Shop is open every Thursday morning from
8:30am until 9am.
Anyone wishing to put their name down to volunteer in 2014
please do so, you will only be required once or twice a term.

Just a reminder; the new style microfiber bucket hats are
$14 each. They are the ONLY style hats that the EMPS
students are to wear and the ONLY style that the Uniform
Shop stocks! We do not stock, nor sell, the old style hat
anymore. Make sure you come in and grab one; they offer
great sun protection for your child.
Please keep in mind that the school's EFTPOS system is no
longer operational for Uniform Shop customers. You will
have to pay by cash or by cheque only until further notice.
Thank you for your understanding. Please make your
cheque out to East Maitland Public School P&C Association.
Canteen News Presentation Day Friday 6th December - there will
be NO LUNCH ORDERS.
Party Day 12th December - there will be no lunch
orders on this day.
Last Day for lunch orders will be Friday 13th December.
Canteen will close on the 18th December. Students are able to buy from the canteen but NO LUNCH
ORDERS for the last week.
HELPERS NEEDED FOR 2014 We are in need of helpers for 2014. If you can spare
some time to help in the canteen it would be greatly
appreciated. Please fill in the form attached to the newsletter.

Life Skills Roster Term 4, 2013 Week 9
Week 10
Come and enjoy a day at your child’s school, meeting new friends and enjoying lunch.
Any parents, grandparents, guardians or community members interested in helping out in the
School Canteen in 2014, please indicate which day suits on the chart below and return to the
School with your enrolment forms.
Hours will be 8:45am to 12.05pm, these hours being very flexible to suit. If you are unable to be on
a set day roster we are always in need of on-call helpers.
Due to insurance regulations, babies and pre-school aged children are unable to accompany you.
Your roster will be forwarded via your child and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
