Mrs Mather has put the final touches on East Maitland’s
entry into the Hunter Valley Gingerbread House Competition. The competition forms part of the Christmas Lights
Exhibition and begins this weekend. Prizes will be awarded to schools who receive the most votes from the visitors to
the Gardens, so if you are intending to go then please drop
by the marquee and vote for us! Thanks to Mr Howell we have constructed a version of the Sydney Opera House,
complete with lights and music.
Mrs McKinnon has begun the Leadership election process to select our 2014 Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects. Good
luck to all the Year 5 students who intend on participating in this!
Remembrance Day Representation Our school captains, Mackenzie Cliff and Liam Stashinsky,
once again represented our school at an important
community event, reading the poem ‘In Flanders Field’ at
the Remembrance Day ceremony held in the RSL hall last
Friday. They treated the occasion with the dignity it
deserved through their manner and dress and the organiser,
Mr Brian Boughton, was appreciative of their contribution
and the way they represented our school. At the conclusion
of the ceremony, the New Zealand National Anthem was
passionately sung by one of our mums at EMPS, the
talented Renee Ngatai (mum of Chase Morris in 2NJ).
With the school year coming to an end all books are due back to the library. If you have any outstanding
overdue books please return them to the library as
soon as possible. Thanking you Mrs Bray & Mrs Hookway

Just a reminder; the new style microfiber bucket hats are $14 each. They are the ONLY style hats that the EMPS
students are to wear and the ONLY style that the Uniform
Shop stocks! We do not stock, nor sell, the old style hat anymore. Make sure you come in and grab one; they offer
great sun protection for your child.
Tri-coloured sports shorts are $20 a pair; we are currently
awaiting size 8. If you require this size or have ordered a pair, a back order has been placed and you will receive
them asap. These shorts are to be worn on your child's weekly sports days ONLY and NOT with the white polo
shirt!
Please keep in mind that the school's EFTPOS system is no
longer operational for Uniform Shop customers. You will have to pay by cash or by cheque only until further notice.
Thank you for your understanding :) Please make your
