Fundamental principlesbehind Discipline With

Dignity is the idea thateveryone in school

setting is to be treatedwith dignity.

Central to treatingindividuals with dignity isthe creation of a school

environment in which theneeds of both students

and teachers are met.





C&M argue that a disciplineproblem is a means of

conveying to the teacherthat something is wrong in

the classroom.

Teachers are encouraged tolook at their own actions as

critically as they look atthose of their student.

C&M suggest that the job of a teacher includes dealing

with student behavior aswell as teaching their

subject matter.
