I’m particularly pleased to see the Ft. McMurray sub-
section kick start with two technical meetings – if
your travel takes you to Ft. McMurray, plan to attend
their meetings.
Our website introduced Paypal to speed registrations,
and began a job board for members.
Our meeting attendance grew to average 50 attendees
In closing, an absolutely wonderful year to be
working with such a committed group of volunteers.
I wish the ISA Edmonton Section all the success in

As my term winds down, I wanted to summarize the
year and commend the many volunteers that make
ISA Edmonton possible.
We had an excellent year with 10 technical meetings,
courses, our 40th anniversary event and our 8th annual
Oilsands Automation Conference.
Briefly, we began with our annual ISA Member Golf
Tournament and our 1st annual Corporate Golf
Tournament.
Technical meetings included:

UPCOMING COURSES AT SPARTAN CONTROLS – EDMONTON
Course 7018: Delta V Hardware & Troubleshooting
This 4-day course covers the hardware components that make up the DeltaV system. With a combination of lecture and workshops, the
student will assemble the system, power up the Controller, I/O subsystem and workstation. The student will learn how to use the
diagnostic tools available to verify any fault conditions that are hardware related. Students will also be introduced to configuration
tools and the operator interface.

Course 1450: Valve Technician II
This 4-1/2 day advanced course is for experienced personnel who will benefit from a broadened perspective of control valve performance
and maintenance issues and how control valve performance impacts loop performance. Extensive hands-on troubleshooting is
employed to reinforce key objectives.

Instrument Technologist Seeking Employer
Experienced Instrument Technologist interested in
working northwest of Edmonton either under contract
or as an employee. I have over 10 years’ experience
as a Journeyman Instrument Technician, and 4 years
with a Technologist diploma and CET designation.
Experience has been in well site construction, facility
construction, facility maintenance, DCS systems,
PLC systems, Data historian systems, and other in-
dustrial software. My main focus has been process
troubleshooting, DCS and PLC systems configura-
tion, and working with all sorts of process controls in
a large gas processing facility.

Technical Sales Representative
The Sales Representative will identify and develop market
opportunities for our flow measurement products, while maintaining a focus on assigned accounts and
partnerships. In addition to developing sales strategies,
this position will conduct sales presentations, provide analysis of market intelligence, work with the distributors
and end users for orders and delivery of product, and work with our customers to obtain specifications for division
products. This position requires travel to client locations in
Northern Alberta and North Eastern British Columbia.
Experience with instrumentation and flow measurement
equipment, or education in Engineering or Instrumentation is required. Strong communication and interpersonal
skills, and self-motivation will ensure success in this role. A valid driver’s license and a clear driver’s abstract are
required.
This position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan and a company vehicle.
