1.Introduction

1. Introduction

EDITRAN/GT (Transmission Manager (Gestor de Transmisiones)) allows managing, from a

web browser, EDITRAN transmissions in order to perform transmissions and/or receptions of

EDITRAN presentations efficiently and unatendedly.

EDITRAN/GT is widely parameterizable to achieve the maximum flexibility. It also

incorporates a settings page that allows defining transmission windows, search intervals,

later processes, retries, etc.

Also, during transmission, EDITRAN/GT looks for the files registered in EDITRAN/G

presentations to transmit them, so when there is a transmission file associated to an

EDITRAN/G presentation, and if it is within the selected time window, the transmission of that

presentation will be automatically launched. This is very useful to automate data transmission

when they exist, and this also improves system efficiency.

Another important aspect is the existing connection between EDITRAN/GT and the rest of

EDITRAN. EDITRAN/GT has been designed as EDITRAN transmissions manager and, as such, it

is capable of Reading EDITRAN/G and EDITRAN/P profiles. Thus, setting EDITRAN/GT is easier,

and it also allows monitoring EDITRAN features, such as presentation status. This will help

determining the reason for a potential incidence during a send or a reception performed by

EDITRAN.

Finally, there is a logs monitoring and an EDITRAN/GT status monitoring. Along with log

files and EDITRAN/P and EDITRAN/G existing statuses, this forms a complete set of important

information about both proper transmissions and their incidences.

This manual is intended for EDITRAN/GT monitoring users. They cannot modify

presentations settings, but they can monitor them. The access of these monitoring users to

the presentations will depend on the user group to which they belong.

3.Description and functionality

3. Description and functionality

EDITRAN/GT incorporates both a functionality to plan in detail transmissions and

receptions, and also the possibility of monitoring the information and the transmissions that

have been performed (transmitted files, transmission start and end date-time, current status

of each transmission...), and the transmissions that ended with any kind of error.

This section gives an overview of EDITRAN/GT functionality, and it is useful to understand

its functionality. Later we will see each functionality exhaustively.

3.1. Access

Access to EDITRAN/GT is made from a web browser, making a request on the application

web address.

The user must log in to access the application, so he must specify his user name and

password in the displayed page.

Once the user has entered a valid user and password, an EDITRAN/GT sesión will be

created, the application home page will be displayed, and the user will have access to the

pages containing the functionalities of the transmissions manager, while the sesión is active.

On the top of the application web pages, there is the main menu, common to all of them.

The header is separated into two parts: the first one at the top, showing the status of the

searcher, the language selection, the control of password change and the button to log off;

and the other one at the botton, showing the different consultation pages of the web

application.

3.3. Settings

If we select the option ‘Settings (Configuración’) in the EDITRAN/GT main menu, it will

display a menu with the following options: search service settings, presentations settings,

and groups settings.

Page 9: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

3.Description and functionality

3.3.1. Search service settings

If we select this option in the settings menu, it will display the page for setting the search

service, that allows monitoring the general behaviour of the presentations searcher. This is

the page:

The different setting options will be explained in detail in section 4.

Here we can consult the global parameters of the presentations search service in

EDITRAN/GT, such as:

Search range in seconds (see section 4.1.1).

Root folder of transmitted files (see section 4.1.1).

They are explained in detail in the section Search service settings.

3.3.2. Presentations settings

If we select the option for presentations settings in the settings menu, it will display the

page from which we can search EDITRAN/GT presentations for consulting them.

Only are displayed those presentations for which the user has authorization.

If we chose to consult a presentation by clicking in the icon of the column “acción” from the

results table, it will display to the user the detail page of a presentation.

3.Description and functionality

3.3.2.1. Setting a presentation

From the page of presentation settings, we can consult the settings of a presentation

associated to GT.

The settings data of a presentation are displayed in three groups of main data: data of the

presentation associated to EDITRAN/GT, settings of the transmission (in emission direction),

and settings of the transmission (in reception direction).

A presentation associated to EDITRAN/GT (that is to say, we can use it from the task

manager to program its transmission) can be programmed to be used as a transmission

presentation, or as a reception presentation, or as both at the same time. This is displayed in

the boxes at the top of the settings, in the area of data related to the associated EDITRAN/G

presentation.

Also, the presentation can have a group of users authorized to consult it, or it can be

stablished that it is consulted by all the users, if the presentation is not associated to any

group. Consulting users have access for the presentations authorized for the group of users to

which they belong, and also for the presentations that are available for all users.

For more details, see section 4.2.2.

3.Description and functionality

3.3.2.2. Transmission settings

From this section related to presentation settings, we can consult the transmission

settings of presentations.

The presentation can be assigned a group settings shared for several presentations. Thus,

the data of the group are stablished also for the data comprising the settings of the

transmitting presentation.

To avoid sending the same presentation twice in a row, a process after EDITRAN/GT

transmission is executed. This process deletes the transmitted files (only the ones that have

been transmitted. If there are other files in the folder, they won’t be deleted and will remain

there to be transmitted latern), or it moves then to a different folder, with the possibility of

rename them with the date-time of the system (see section 4.2.2.2.3).

The transmission retries are also displayed, so that a retry is performed for the indicated

number of times (see section 0), in case the presentation is not transmitted.

Transmission presentations can be also planned to be sent in certain days and moments of

the day, using a time window (see section 4.2.2.2.7).

From the section of file search data, we can consult whether the presentation

transmissions are activated, and whether a file search range has been stablished, instead of

using the range of the general settings for the search service.

If transmission are deactivated, the presentation files won’t be sent, even if the searcher is

running.

In the lower area is displayed a summary of the presentation current status.

3.3.2.3. Setting the transmission time window

To consult the planned transmissions set to be transmitted according to a time window, a

day of the week and/or a day of the month, the box Use time window (Utilizar Ventana

Horaria) must be checked. The user must click on the button See (“Ver”) in the section for

transmission settings. Then, the following pop up will be displayed.

In the left area of the time window are displayed the time slots during which the

presentation can be transmitted, and also the special days (one day in a month) in which the

presentation is transmitted or not, regardless of the transmission settings for days in a week

or days in a month (displayed in the right area).

Apart from the time slots and the special days for a transmission time window, in the right

area we can also consult 4 parameters:

One or several daily sends.

One or several sends by time slot.

Day in which we want to send (Monday, Tuesday,… Sunday).

Day of the month in which we want to send (1,2,3…..30/31).

It is important to noteworthy that, if there is a plan in which it is specified the “day of the

week” and the “day of the month”, the transmission will be performed when one of these two

conditions is fulfilled (day of the week or day of the month).

For more details, see section 4.2.2.2.7.

3.3.2.4. Reception settings

From this section for setting a presentation, we can consult the reception settings of a

presentation.

The presentation can have assigned a group settings shared for several presentations, that

stablishes its group data to the data comprising the presentation settings during reception.

As well as in the transmission settings, from the area for file searching we can also consult

whether the presentation transmissions are activated, and whether a slot for file search has

been stablished, instead of using the slot of the general settings for the search service.

Reception settings allow the use of a time window (see section 4.2.2.3.1).

We can also retry receptions, display the parameters of the retris number, and the range

between retries (see section 0).

In the bottom is displayed the summary of the presentation status in receiving direction.

3.3.2.5. Setting the reception time window

To consult whether a presentation can receive files according to a time window, or

according to a day in the week or in the month, the box User time window (Utilizar ventana

horaria) must be checked. The user can click on the button “See (Ver”) for the time window in

the area of reception settings. It will display the same options as in the transmission time

window (see section 4.2.2.2.7).

3.3.3.1. Setting a group

From the page of group settings, we can consult the information shared settings of a

presentations group, the GT presentations associated to the group and the presentations

associated to it.

The data of group settings are the same as the data presentations settings, along with the

direction of the group transmissions. The presentations associated to the group will share the

same settings.

In the area of presentations associated to the group, will be displayed the presentations

associated to the group.

The log monitoring page is the following:

It shows only the events for which the user is authorized.

For further information, see section 5.

3.5. Status monitoring

We can access from the button States of the EDITRAN/GT main menu.

Each EDITRAN/G presentation associated to EDITRAN/GT has a status that allows, at any

given time, to check whether there is a transmission in progress, and also if there is any

ended transmission without being able to be transmitted.

The page to monitor statuses is the following:

Page 16: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

3.Description and functionality

It shows only the statuses of the presentations for which the user is authorized.

For further information about statuses, see section 5.

3.6. Searcher status

EDITRAN/GT has two operating modes, depending on whether it is searching for

transmissions to perform (STARTED (INICIADO)) or not (STOPPED (DETENIDO)). In the right

area of the main menu it is shown the searcher status, that can be STARTED or STOPPED.

If the searcher is not running, the status will be INOPERATIVE (INOPERATIVO). We must

communicate a system administrator this situation, so that he starts the searcher.

If the searcher doesn’t answer the operations requested from the web application, it will be

shown the status, then the detail (COMMUNICATION ERROR (ERROR COMUNICACIÓN)). We

must communicate a system administrator this situation, so that he solves the problem.

3.7. Language change

In the right area of the main menu are shown the different languages into which the

4.Settings

4. Settings

EDITRAN/GT settings, that we can access from the option “Settings (Configuración”) of the

main menu, are divided in three sections:

Search service settings

Presentations settings

Groups settings

For query users, the settings will be shown only in monitoring mode. They won’t be allowed

to modify settings.

Now we will explain each of the settings, along with the details of their functionalities.

4.1. Search service settings

We can access the search service settings selecting the option “Search service settings

(Configuración del servicio de búsqueda”) from the Settings (Configuración) menu.

The screen for setting the search service is the following:

Search service settings has several global parameters that affect all the presentations in

EDITRAN/GT:

Search range (seconds).

Root folder of the transmitted files.

4.1.1. Search range

From time to time, EDITRAN/GT checks all the EDITRAN/G associated presentations,

looking for the matching of the set criteria to request EDITRAN a transmission or a reception.

This search range is shown in the text box corresponding to Search range (Intervalo de

búsqueda).

Depending on the specified value for the search range, EDITRAN/GT will search

presentations matching the transmission and/or reception conditions, and it will make

EDITRAN a request for the transmission to be performed.

4.2. Presentations settings

Presentations settings is shown when we select the option “Presentations settings

(Configuración de presentaciones”) from the “Settings (Configuración)” menu. The user is

presented a main page of presentations settings, from which he can access their details.

4.2.1. Presentations settings main page

The following page will be displayed:

On the top of the screen there is a presentations search filter, with the following filters:

Presentation (Presentación). Is the name of the EditranGT presentation we

are searching. This element is, at the same time, a list of selectable options,

and a text field. The available options are filtered as the text field is filled. We

can select a presentation from the list, or we can use a wildcard “*” in the text

box, to search a group of presentations that share a specific pattern in their

name. Example: WIN* searchs all the presentations whose name begins with

WIN.

Direction (Sentido). Direction of the transmission associated to the

presentations. It can be transmission or reception.

Group (Grupo). Name of a presentations settings group.

Activated (Activado). It can have the value Yes (Sí) or Not (No). It indicates

whether we must filter by presentations with their transmissions activated or

deactivated.

Once we have entered the desired parameters, we will click on the button “Filter (Filtrar”) and the list of results will be completed with the presentations matching the selected filters.

We have a button “Clear (Limpiar”) to restart the filters to the initial values.

presentation for the selected direction will be displayed. The direction can be a

transmission or a reception one.

4.2.2. Setting a presentation

The settings of a presentation will be displayed in monitoring mode, with its data in read-

only mode.

The screen for a presentation settings is the following:

In this section are described each of the parameters we can set in the presentations of

EDITRAN transmissions manager.

Presentations settings are divided in three sections:

EDITRAN/G presentation associated to EDITRAN/GT

Transmission settings

Reception settings

When we click on the title of each of the settings sections, the corresponding content will

be displayed or hidden.

4.2.2.1. Editran/G associated presentation

It shows the data of the G presentation associated to the GT presentation, and also the

directions of the transmission associated to the GT presentation.

The G presentations not associated to GT won’t be transmitted automatically. They must

be transmitted manually using the EDITRAN menus and commands. Only the presentations

associated to GT will be automatically transmitted.

In the bottom of the settings area are displayed some of the informative data of the

Editran/G presentation. They are the following:

Local entity code (Código de entidad local). It is the Editran code of the

entity origin of the communication.

Remote entity code (Código de entidad remota). It is the Editran code of

the entity target of the communication.

Application code (Código de aplicación). It is the Editran code of the

application using Editran.

A G presentation associated to GT will have, as a result, that GT will automatically perform,

when appropriate according to the settings, requests to Editran so it makes the files

transmission of the G transmission, reception or both directions presentation.

After the G presentation codes, it is displayed the group of authorized users to consult

the presentation. If the group is not reported, all users can consult the preentation. In this

way, if a presentation is assigned to a group of users, it will be visible in the application (in

status, logs and presentations monitoring) only for consulting users that belong to the group

indicated.

In the following chapters we will explain each of the configurable parameters.

4.2.2.2. Setting a transmission presentation

Section of the settings page of the presentation belonging to an EDITRAN/GT transmission

4.Settings

The box “Associated to EDITRAN/GT in transmission (Asociada a EDITRAN/GT en emisión”)

must be checked in the label “Editran/G presentation associated to EDITRAN/GT (Presentación

de Editran/G asociada a EDITRAN/GT”) to use a presentation transmission settings, so that it

sends its file through EDITRAN/G unatendedly.

4.2.2.2.1. Setting a transmission group

It shows whether the presentation is associated to a transmission group settings. If so, the

values for the group are displayed in the transmission settings parameters.

If the group settings change, the settings of the presentation associated to the group will

also change.

4.2.2.2.2. Transmission files

EDITRAN/GT reads from EDITRAN/G profiles and shows the first file that is registered in

the profiles of the selected EDITRAN/G presentation.

The existence or not of the transmission file (that can contain wildcards) will launch the

transmission request. That is to say, if a presentation is set to transmit several files, the

transmission won’t start until it appears the file shown in the dialog (if there is a time window,

the file will need not only to appear, but to be within the time window. See section 4.2.2.2.7).

4.2.2.2.3. Process after transmission

To avoid a transmission properly transmitted to be sent again, the transmission file must

disappear. We can do it in two ways:

Deleting the transmitted transmission files

Moving to another folder the transmitted files (and renaming them, if we wish)

This two options exist in EDITRAN/GT, and it can be parametrized in the following way:

4.2.2.2.3.1. Deleting the files from the transmission source folder

If the box ‘Delete (Eliminar’) is selected, the transmission files transmitted by EDITRAN will

be deleted after the proper transmission.

4.2.2.2.3.2. Moving the transmitted files to another folder

If this option is selected, we have more options than in the previous one. On one hand, it is

displayed the folder to which the transmitted files will be moved, and on the other hand, if the

box “Rename (Renombrar)” is checked, the transmitted file will be renamed, adding to it the

date-time of the system. If the box is not selected, the files with the same name will be

overwritten.

The path of the folder where the transmitted files will be copied by default will be the one

formed with the name of the root folder for the transmitted files (it is specified in the general

settings of the search service), followed by the subfolder with the name of the presentation.

It is more useful if the options ‘Move (Mover’) and ‘Rename (Renombrar’) are checked, than

if the option ‘Delete (Eliminar’) is checked. In this way, there is a folder in which we can check

all the files that have been transmitted, and we also can know what date and time they have

been transmitted.

Page 22: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

4.2.2.2.4. Retries

In EDITRAN/GT, there is the option of EDITRAN retrying a transmission that has ended with

an error. We also can indicate the number of retries we want to be performed.

The parameter “Range between retries (minutes) (Intervalo entre Reintentos (minutos)“)

stablishes how often we want to execute again the request, in case there has been any error

during the initial request.

4.2.2.2.5. Files search

Files searching can be set using two parameters:

Search range

Activated (search and files transmission).

With the parameter “Search range (Intervalo de búsqueda”) we can set for a specific

presentation its own files search range in seconds. It can replace the general behaviour of

files search range, that is specified in the general settings of the search service (see Search

range).

The box “Activated (Activada”) is a read-only parameter that shows whether the search and

the file transmission for the presentation are activated or deactivated.

4.2.2.2.6. Presentation status

The status of a presentation is composed of two monitoring informative parameters:

Status

Date-Time

“Status (Estado”) shows the current status of the presentation transmission, in

transmission direction.

“Date-Time (Fecha-Hora”) shows the moment when the presentation status changed to the

current one.

4.2.2.2.7. Setting the transmission time window

It is possible to reduce the files sending by EDITRAN to a specific period (or several periods)

of time. That is to say, even if there is a file set for a specific time, we can parametrize it so

that it is not sent when it appears, but during the period of time we call ‘Time zone (Franja

horaria’).

It is the same for the days. We can specify in which days we want to transmit, and in which

days the presentation won’t be transmitted.

EDITRAN/GT ‘Time window (Ventana horaria’) will be used when the box “Use time window

(Utilizar ventana horaria”) is selected.

Page 23: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

EDITRAN/GT 2.1 4-7

4.Settings

To consult this Time window, we must click on the button “See (Ver”) from the transmission

time window settings.

From this pop-up we can consult the time zones (franjas horarias). We can also consult

whether there is only a daily transmission, a transmission per time zone (4.2.2.2.7.3), the

transmissions per week days, per month days, and the special days for transmissions or not

transmissions.

4.2.2.2.7.1. Transmission time zones

If there are time zones reported, this will show a list of transmission time zones. Each of

them is composed of the time from which the time zone begins (its format is hour:minute),

and the time until which the presentation files are transmitted.

4.2.2.2.7.2. Only one daily transmission

If the box “Only one daily transmission (Sólo una transmisión diaria”) is selected, the

presentation will make only a send of its files per day, regardless of several time zones have

been specified. This option is compatible with the option “Only one transmission per time zone

(Sólo una transmisión por cada franja horaria”).

4.2.2.2.7.3. Only one transmission per transmission time zone

It can be desirable to request EDITRAN a transmission per each Time zone, even if they

exist new files to be transmitted.

For example, if we want that the EDITRAN/G presentation ‘TRANSFERENCIAS’ is sent

during the night (from 01:00:00 to 07:00:00, for example), and if we want that it is sent only

once during the night, even if during that night they are new files that must be sent the

following night, we will check the option Only one transmission per each time zone (Sólo una Emisión por cada Franja horaria).

Page 24: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

4.Settings

4.2.2.2.7.4. Transmission per week days

If the box “Transmission per week days (Transmisión por días de la semana”) is checked,

the presentation will be transmitted during the checked week days.

In case this box is not checked, the presentation transmission is performed, regardless of

the day of the week.

4.2.2.2.7.5. Transmission per month days

If the box “Transmission per month days (Transmisión por días del mes”) is checked, the

presentation will be transmitted during the checked month days.

In case this box is not checked, the presentation transmission is performed, regardless of

the day of the month.

4.2.2.2.7.6. Special days

If there are special days reported, a list of transmission special days is displayed. It contains

the days of the year with format Day/Month, and it shows whether that day are transmitted

the presentation files, regardless of the settings of the transmission per week days and per

month days.

4.2.2.3. Settings of the reception presentation

Section of a presentation settings, belonging to EDITRAN/GT reception parameters:

The EDITRAN/GT reception parameters are the same as the transmission parameters,

except the parameters regarding processes after transmission (see Setting a transmission

presentation).

The box “Associated to EDITRAN/GT in reception (Asociada a EDITRAN/GT en recepción”)

must be checked in the label “Editran/G presentation associated to EDITRAN/GT (Presentación

de Editran/G asociada a EDITRAN/GT”). This way, the reception settings of a presentation will

be used, so that the files are received through EDITRAN/G unatendedly.

4.2.2.3.1. Reception time window

It marks the period of time when we wish to receive an EDITRAN/G presentation. See the

previous section about transmission time window, as its content is the same (see Setting the

transmission time window).

Page 25: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

4.Settings

4.2.2.3.2. Retries

As we saw in transmission, in EDITRAN/GT there is also the option that EDITRAN retries a

reception that has ended with error. We also can indicate the number of retries that we want

to perform.

For this, the box “Retry in case of error (Reintentar en caso de Error”) must be checkd, and

the number of retries specified in the box “Retries (Reintentos”).

The parameter “Range between retries (minutes) (Intervalo entre Reintentos (minutos)“)

stablishes how often we want to execute again the reception request, in case there has been

any error during the initial request.

4.3. Setting groups

Selecting the option of groups settings from the settings menu, we will display the main

page from which we can search EDITRAN/GT presentations groups settings, for its monitoring.

4.3.1. Groups settings main page

It displays the following page:

In the top of the screen there is a group search filter, with the following filters:

Group (Grupo). This is the name of the group we search. This element is, at

the same time, a list of selectable options and a text field. The available

options are filtered as we fill the text field. We can select a group from the list

or we can use a wildcard “*” in the text field, to search those groups of

presentations that share a specific pattern within their name. Example: AIX*

searchs all the groups whose name begins with AIX.

Direction (Sentido). Direction of the transmission that the searched groups

must have associated. It can be transmission or reception.

Activated (Activado). It can be Yes (Sí) or No (No). It indicates whether we will

filter by groups whose transmissions are activated or deactivated.

Once the previous parameters have been reported, we will click on the button “Filter (Filtrar”) and the list of results will be filled with these groups matching the selected filters.

There is a button “Clear (Limpiar”) to return the filters to their initial value.

On each of the groups found, we can perform the actions showed in the right column on

the results list. They are the following:

Page 26: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

EDITRAN/GT 2.1 4-10

4.Settings

See (Ver). If we select this option, the settings page of the selected group will

be displayed.

4.3.2. Setting a group

From the settings page of a group, we can consult the information shared by a group of

presentations, and also the GT presentations associated to the group.

The group data that can be set are the same as the ones in the presentations (except for

transmission). We can also set the direction of the group transmissions. The presentations

belonging to the group will share the same settings than the group. See Setting a

presentation.

In the transmission groups, unlike transmission presentations, is not indicated the target

folder in the process after moving the transmitted files. This is because the target folder

belongs to each presentation, and it cannot be shared among several of them.

4.3.2.1. Presentations associated to the group

On the bottom of the group settings screen is displayed the area of associating

presentations to the group. This area is composed of a list of presentations associated to the

group.

Page 27: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

5.EDITRAN/GT statuses

5. EDITRAN/GT statuses

EDITRAN/GT allows consulting the status of all the presentations associated to

EDITRAN/GT, and also the date and time when they changed to that status. The page to

consult statuses is automatically updated to show the current status of each presentation.

The information about EDITRAN/GT statuses is complementary to the information about

EDITRAN/G statuses, and it is useful to see a picture of the current status of the transmission,

and also to see which transmissions didn’t end properly.

5.1. Consulting transmission and reception status

There are two ways to see EDITRAN/GT reception and transmission statuses:

Using the settings page of a presentation (see section 3.3.2.1)

Using the status monitoring (see section 3.5)

5.1.1. Settings page of a presentation

From the settings page of a presentation (see section 3.3.2), we can simultaneously see

the transmission and reception statuses of an EDITRAN presentation associated to

EDITRAN/GT.

5.1.2. Status monitoring

The other way to see EDITRAN/GT statuses is with the status monitoring page (see section

3.5). We can access it selecting the option Statuses (Estados) from the main menu.

The following consulting page will be displayed:

In the top of the screen, when we click on the button at the right side of “Filter (Filtro:”), we

will display the parameters indicating which of the filters from the status monitoring we wish

to apply:

Presentation (Presentación): We can select a specific presentation to see its

statuses, or the literal <All (Todas)>, that will show the statuses of all the

presentations associated to EDITRAN/GT. In the text box of the filter, we can

also enter the name of the presentation. Thus, as we fill the letters in the text,

the presentations from the list that don’t match the text will dissapear. We can

also use a wildcard “*” that can represent any string, then the results of the

Page 28: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

EDITRAN/GT 2.1 5-2

5.EDITRAN/GT statuses

search will inclue those presentations whose name is valid for the reported

expression.

Direction (Sentido): We must select Transmission (Emisión) or Reception

(Recepción), depending on the direction for which we want to see the statuses.

Status (Estado): List of selectable options, showing the statuses allowed for

the presentations.

After selecting the filters and clicking on the button Filter (Filtrar), will appear all the

presentations associated to EDITRAN/GT (or to the one we have selected in the filter) in the

direction selected, along with the status selected and the date-time when it was modified.

We have a button Clear (Limpiar) to restart the filters to their initial values.

Will be displayed only those presentations statuses for which the user is authorized.

5.2. Statuses table

The statuses of an EDITRAN/GT presentation can be the following:

Status Description

Initialized (Inicializada)

The presentation associated to EDITRAN/GT is not performing any

transmission.

Transmitting (Transmitiendo)

The presentation is being transmitted by EDITRAN.

Ended with error. Retrying (Finalizada con Error. Reintentando)

The presentation has been launched by EDITRAN/GT and it has

ended with an error. Nevertheless, it is set to retry and at the

moment it is retrying the operation.

Ended with error. No retries (Finalizada con Error. Sin Reintentos)

The presentation has been launched by EDITRAN/GT and it has

ended with an error. Also, retries have not been set or they are

exhausted.

Transmitted (Transmitida)

The transmission of the presentation has been launched by

EDITRAN/GT and it has been transmitted properly.

Page 29: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

6.EDITRAN/GT log

6. EDITRAN/GT log

EDITRAN/GT shows all the operations performed in a log page, so that they can be

monitored. The page is automatically updated to show the last events occurred in the system.

Along with the page for status monitoring (see section 5) serves as diagnostic and

verification of the planned transmissions, transmitted or received by EDITRAN.

6.1. Log monitoring

To monitor the log page, we will have to select the option “Log” in the main menu.

The following page will be displayed:

On top of the screen, if we click on the icon at the right side of “Filter (Filtro:”), we will see

the parameters indicating which filters of log monitoring we want to apply:

Presentation (Presentación): We can select a specific presentation to see its

log, or the literal <All (Todas)>, that will show the log of all the presentations

associated to EDITRAN/GT. In the filter text box we can also enter the name of

the presentation, so as we fill the letters, the number of presentations from

the list that don’t match the text will be reduced. We can also use a wildcard “*”

that can represent any string, so when we filter, the search result will include

the presentations whose name is valid for the reporte expression.

Direction (Sentido): We need to select Transmission (Emisión) or Reception

(Recepción), depending on the direction in which we want to see the log.

Date (Fecha): It is the date from which we want to see the log

(day/month/year). By default, it appears the current date. Thus, if we don’t

modify this value, the log will show the operations made that day.

Time (Hora): It is the time from which we want to see the log (hour:minute).

By default, will appear the current date. Thus, if we don’t modify this value, the

log will show the operations made during the current day.

Once the previous parameters are filled, we will click on the button “Filter (Filtrar”) and the

list will be filled with all the results matching the requirements selected before.

We have a button “Clear (Limpiar”) to restablish the filters to their initial values.

Only the events of the presentations for which the user has permission will be shown.

7. Supported browsers

The web application is optimized for a full screen view in a device whose resolution is

1024x768 or higher.

It is also ready to be used with all its functionalities in the following internet browsers:

Internet Explorer 8 and 9, Mozilla Firefox version 11 and Google Chrome version 18.

If you cannot display the web application in your regular browser, try to use one of the

suggested browsers.

7.1. Javascript

The browser used must have enabled the JavaScript execution, so that the application runs

properly.

If JS is not enabled, the user will be warned with a message.

Page 31: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web

7.2. Settings for IE8 and IE9

Internet Explorer has a compatibility view, a function that influences the presentation of

some web sites. If the compatibility view is enabled for EDITRAN/GT name or server IP, some

of EDITRAN/GT functions may not be properly shown.

How to solve the problem:

To confirm that EDITRAN/GT is displayed properly on your screen, we suggest to delete

EDITRAN/GT name or server IP from you list of sites with enabled compatibility view:

In Internet Explorer (8 or 9), open the menu Tools and select the option

Compatibility view settings.

Select the EDITRAN/GT name or the server IP from the list “Web sites added to

compatibility view".

Click on Delete.

On the bottom of the window, disable the boxes "Display all web sites in

compatibility view" and "Display all web intranet sites in compatibility view".

Click on Close. The page you have open will be refreshed and shown in normal

mode.

Note: if your company manages your computer with Windows, you may not access the

compatibility view settings, or delete the EDITRAN/GT name or server IP from the list of

affected domains. If so, contact your administrator or your company support department, as

they may have set this parameter with a Windows groups policy.

7.3. Certificates settings

First time we access EDITRAN/GT with our browser, it will show a warning that the

requested web is not safe. For example:

− In Internet Explorer 6

"There is a problema with the security certificate of this web site. The security certificate of this web was not emitted by a trusted entity.”

− In Internet Explorer 7 and higher:

"The security certificate of the web site is not from a trusted entity."

− Firefox

"www.sudominio.com uses and invalidad security certificate.”

This is because we didn’t indicate the browser that we trust in the EDITRAN CA that

emitted the EDITRAN/GT web server certificate.

How to solve the problem:

So that the warning is not shown hereafter, we must administrate the certificates from the

brownser setting options. Thus, we will include EDITRAN certificate in the list of trusted

certifying entities.

Page 32: EDITRAN/GT 2montilla.indra.es/EN/doc/win_unix/web/EDITRAN_GT_Usuario_EN.pdf · EDITRAN/GT 2.1 3-2 3.Description and functionality 3.2. Main menu On the top of the application web
