AUGUST 2008 Europe and the Middle East Editorial Editorial Editorial Editorial By Marina Savelli General Manager – Europe and Middle East Dear Distributors and Partners It has been two quarters since our last regional newsletter. I would like to take advantage of this new edition to communicate to you the recent changes in the Cummins Filtration organization. Cummins Filtration has been through significant organization changes to realign globally in order to be better positioned to serve our customers and pursue growth. A major aspect of our new organization is the global alignment of functions within performance cells as defined by the customers and markets they serve. These performance cells include the following: Global Filtration Technologies - focused on our first fit customers; Global Aftermarket - focused on our aftermarket customers; Global Exhaust - focused on the unique needs of the exhaust business; and Emerging Markets – focused on the accelerated growth demands of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and Africa. The Europe and Middle East organization (EME) is now part of the Global Aftermarket performance cell with the focus on growing our aftermarket business in the region and taking advantage of our global positioning. We are confident that our new organization will allow us to develop strategies focused on the aftermarket channel which will reflect on better service and support to our distribution partners and ultimately the end user customers. This newsletter will be one of our communication tools and will allow us to share with you the happenings around our region, company, product technologies and services. I look forward to working with you and growing our business in the region. Marina Savelli SeaPro® on the Adriatic Sea Distributor Dominio Ricambi in Pescara, Italy, equips fishing boats with SeaPro®. The Fleetguard User

Friendly Filter

Designed with the End User in Mind Easy to spin on, easy to take off, and won't tip over when you set it down: the user-friendly filter is designed to obsolete metal filters, with advanced polymer materials inside and out for superior performance with easier handling. Plus, because it’s from Cummins Filtration, you know that your engine is getting the best protection available. Unmatched Durability: Ordinary metal filters are easily dented and damaged. The outer shell of the user-friendly filter is made of an advanced polymer construction that is so strong, you can drive over it with a truck and it will still retain its shape. It has a higher burst strength rating, with excellent impact resistance. Rigorous field testing has proven the durability of the advanced polymer design, even under the most extreme operating temperatures. Environmentally Friendly: Like any metal filter, the user-friendly filter can be drained and put in a compactor. But it has an advantage over metal filters because it can be incinerated and used to create heat and energy in an environmentally responsible manner.

The following User Friendly Filters

applications will be available in the

course of the 4th quarter of 2008 :

RVI, Volvo, KHD

Best Protection: The user-friendly filter uses proven media technology, trapping metal and dirt particles, preventing them from reaching the moving parts in your engine.

The Fleetguard logo Now Updated and Available Online

The first impression a company makes is usually a visual one. A company logo is an important element influencing that impression. The objective of a logo is to create instant recognition and make the company’s name and products memorable. While the Cummins and Cummins Filtration logos are exclusively used by Cummins on corporate communication and promotional material, the Fleetguard logo is the only logo approved for use by our delivery partners to represent our products. The official Fleetguard logo has recently been updated on our website along with the mandatory control field standards. Please discard all Fleetguard logos that you have been previously using and replace them with the updated logo that can be found in EPS, JPEG, GIF, PNG formats at the following address: http://www.cumminsfiltration.com/en/about_cummins/en_logos.shtml.
