Editorial T'he Pennsylvanian Convention
Centre, Philadelphia, USA, is the
venue for this year's Filtration 2000. The
show, organised by INDA (Association of
the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry), is seen
as one of the largest annual events in the
filtration and separation industry's
calendar. According to INDA, this year
promises to be even bigger and better,
with over 2000 profeSSional from around
the world expected to attend, and an
increase of 35% in the number of
exhibiting companies. One of the
highlights of the event is a Saab 9.3
convertible car, featuring a high
efficiency cabin air filtration system.
Considering the growing concerns over
the impact of airborne particles on
global health, this display is certainly
worth a look.
Filtration 2000's three-day
conference (28-30 November) features a
tutorial on the fundamentals of filtration,
a number of presentations covering
various aspects of air / gas and liquid
filtration and a look at what the future
holds for the filtration industry. As the
use of the Internet and more importantly
of e-commerce increases, one particular
seminar of interest is 'The Internet & e
Business' , which will cover the basics
needed to become part of the e
commerce community, from the
perspective of the filtration industry.
In the next issue . ..
In addition to the conference,
Filtration 2000 has a two-day exposition
(29-30 November). Traditionally, this
month's issue carries a Show Guide
(p.40-46). There you can find out who's
exhibiting at this year's event.
Now synonymous with INDA's show
the 3rd Filtration+Separation Product
Achievement Awards dinner and
ceremony, will take place on the evening
of 29 November, at the Loews
Philadelphia Hotel. We're pleased to
announce the winners of each of the ten
categories (p.32-35). Reflecting the high
standard of this year's nominations we
have also given highly commended
awards where there was little to separate
the companies. To give an air of
anticipation to the evening the 'Product
of the Year' and the runners-up will be
announced at the ceremony. For further
information on how to attend the
Award's dinner and ceremony contact
