ew will have been surprised with the announcement of the sale of USFilter’s remaining Filtration and Separations Group [FSG), as Vivendi Environnement has made no secret of its

desire to divest non-core assets and focus on its water and wastewater businesses. However, I doubt Pall was top of many people’s list of potential buyers, It appears that Vivendi Environnement got its man, because despite the sale going to an auction process, Vivendi Environnement is reported to have approached Pall beforehand. There is no doubt that FSG is a good fit for Pall’s Industrial business unit, as it enables the company to offer industry a more rounded product range. From FSG’s point of view, I’m sure its hoping that after many years of being the target of acquisition activity it has finally found a stable home with Pall.
