What a pleasure it has been to receive an excellentbatch of papers during the recent months. How-ever, it is always dif®cult to have to reject papersafter adverse reviews. I believe anyone whosubmits a paper believes that the paper is worthyof publication. I refer once again to the notes on theinside cover of the back page of the Journal.Remember ªThe language of the Journal is

Englishº! I am prepared to help with smallamendments, but there have been times when acomplete rewrite would have been required.Please have the English checked before submissionif you have any doubts. Remember to printillustrations separately and number with Arabic

numerals. If you are supplying photographs,please ensure that they are originals.

Remember that the cost of printing colourillustrations in the journal will be charged to theauthor. However, if colour illustrations are sup-plied electronically in either TIFF or EPS format,theymay be used in the PDF of the article at no costto the author. Finally, make sure that you have sentthe Copyright Transfer Agreement with the paper.These are available electronically from me orWiley.
