I am also know that many of you will be serving those up and down the District who are less fortunate than us and that is the Lions way.
May I take this opportunity to with you all a very Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for a fantastic 2019.
As I reach the half way point in my year servicing you as District Governor I also want to thank you for your support and hard work. It has been a real pleasure to meet so many of you.
Lions are responding to the needs of those in distress in the area. The aftermath of the disaster is now only truly coming to light. Your support as Lions is needed.

A WORLD IN NEED
YOUNG LIONSSYMPOSIUM 2018
Christmas can be a tough time for many people. For some it’s the build-up to Christmas that is hard, for others, it is the day itself on which they are most at risk.
Walking around shops to the sound of Christmas songs can be bad enough but for some, it might be the first Christmas without a family member. There is rawness in the discrepancy between the bright happy festive songs and the sadness that many feel. However it is still a time of hope. I believe that all the great workthat LIONS are doing can save lives and indeed you have so far.LIONS care for so many people and support them through particularly dark times. It is a privilege to be able to work alongside each and every one of you.
So this newsletter is a time for me to be thankful, thankful for allof your wonderful qualities of kindness, selflessness, sensitivity, courage and integrity that you bring into the world.
Next year we will have lots of fun activities to take part in and aschedule of training events for anyone interested.
Your positive messages and posts on social media really do helpothers, so a massive THANK YOU!!
